  1. This saddens me. West Side Story was my favorite movie of the year, and I hope it gets a lot of Oscar nominations. The fact that no one cared to go out and see it is a shame. I understand the pent up demand for Spiderman, but good movies like West Side Story, even The Last Duel, which also bombed, were great movies. What's going on with the audiences?
  2. All I got to say is that everyone is culpable to some degree. The Armorer should have known the difference between a live round and a blank. The Assistant Director should have double-checked the firearm to ensure it had the proper round. Alec Baldwin himself should had done the same. The film's Director should have ensured that all safety procedures were followed. Its a tragedy, but hopefully, one that will result in safety standards set and followed in the future.
  3. I don't normally comment on this forum, but as I am a fan of the theaters, and want them to do well, I saw the Last Duel on Saturday, at 3:00 pm, at the Southcenter AMC in Tukwila, Washington. There was about 50 or so people in the theater. Nice turnout to a solid B+ film.
  4. Good. It would have been a ratings disaster just like the Oscars was.
  5. I saw this movie today. I expected nothing, and that's what I got. Just a couple hours of mindless action, violence and death. I liked it. And, a bonus, at the AMC Kent Station where I was, there were around 50 or so people in the theater alongside me. So... it made a little bit of money.
  6. God, I hope not! I went to see Tom and Jerry this afternoon. Since King Jay Inslee saw it fit for us commoners to go back to the theaters again, AMC decided to open their doors (why Regal hasn't, I don't know), I have seen 4 movies: Wonder Woman, News from the World, the Croods, and Tom and Jerry. In all showings, there was a decent audience, around a couple dozen patrons, maybe more. People still want the theater experience. Once capacity rises and Regal reopens, the Box Office will regain some of the momentium lost.
  7. I went to see this movie at the Factoria AMC this afternoon. A nice crowd of about 25 or so patrons. If Regal Cinemas would open up, the Box Office could make a bit of a comeback. I hope it pulled in close to 4M this weekend.
