  1. Killers of the Flower Moon and Napoleon are not bombing, or Air for Amazon, they are primarly streaming plays for Apple and Amazon, theatrical run is nothing more than bonus for them and net positive for theathers. It's completely diffrent situation than The Marvels or Indiana Jones.
  2. Holly shit, Marvel/Cbm movies fans are just plain dumb and clueless, they can't grasp any sort of context or nuance. Just look at the comments and quotes of this tweet.
  3. Oh boy, "Brie doing The View and eating Hot Ones would add 30 milions to the Box Office" truthers are speaking up here now as well. There's a reason many poeple in January and before were predicting this move will be a huge bomb, long before strikes, becouse the hype and interest from even core Marvel fandom was always very very weak for this flick. Five Nights at Freddy"s opening two weeks earlier to 80 mln$ completely kills any merit to this line of excuses for Marvels. But folks will try of course.
  4. Good reactions and reviews are not and won't be any suprise. Just like with the first one.
  5. It's so transparent isn't it, unions in theory should be all about eaquality but in both strikes, it's the most wealthy and powerful decide when it's time to end it, no matter if the deal is good enough to reagular memebers (in case of WGA they did get good deal to be fair). Bunch of powerful showrunners met with WGA leadership to put fire under them and deal was done in a week. In case of SAG all it took is 15 movie stars pressuring SAG leadership to get deal done and end the strike and Ryan Reynolds mocking them about Halloween rules on twitter and what a suprise, deal gonna be done in a week. Don’t get me wrong, we will see what deal will look like, hopefuly it will be great for SAG, but imo, there's something very wrong and perverse that in both cases bunch of celebrity milioners gonna decide for thousands of regular members when it's time to end the fight.
  6. Nice, I see karma is still working, there’s of course more reasons why film is underperforming but I'm positive that in in some part Cruise and McQuarrie are paying for their awful story decison, too bad tho, other than that one aspect film was pretty great. There's more and more articles being wirtten on this topic which represents prime example of one of most toxic tropes which have plagued Hollywood storytelling forever, and McQuarrie certainly is not helping himself with his tone-deaf explanations.
  7. MI7 underperforming? Karma for what Cruise and McQuarrie did and for certain decisions they made. There's a reason this film is more divisive among longtime fans of the series than among critics or casual audience.
  8. Animal cruelty film. Not gonna watch this crap, no chance. And families with kids won't either. Gunn has some issues with his head, from pedophile jokes to this shit. Fuck him.
  9. MCU in the era after Endgame has quality control problem, Feige is constantly letting projects with undercooked scripts go into the production. The pressure of delivering yearly quota of content in Disney plus era has gotten to him and quality suffers.
  10. I haven’t seen it yet but if the film is as bad as some people say I'm afraid it will retrospectively hurt Ragnarok's perception and reputation in people' minds which is a shame as it was an excellent film, one of the most beloved Marvel films between both fandom and general audience. I have impression since quite some time that Taika got lost a bit in his success and sudden fame and has lost a creative focus in a way, he spreads himself thin, he gets involved in so many various projects, it's crazy, no matter how brilliant as an artist artist you are (and he is brilliant) if you have to work on 5 diffrent projects (in lesser or grater capacity of course) at the same time the quality of work will suffer in the end, human brain can have only so much focus and attention.
  11. Just watched it, really liked it, it's good, entertaining film, had pleasent time watching it. Legacy characters were handled well and with respect. Much much better film than Fallen Kingdom. I don’t get why this film got such bad reviews, it's certainly not "30% tomatometer level" bad film.
  12. Yeah exactly, they completely butchered marketing campaign for this film, looking back at it it's really shocking how (beside being very very late) uninspired and aimless it was, failed to generate any extra hype for the film. Both trailers were very mediocre. Ragnarok beside being apparently better film also had amazing marketing campaign with great, memorable trailers.
  13. If film will end up with smaller than expected opening weekend I would put the most blame on Disney marketing departament. For some reason they decided to use this film as some sort of experiment and start the marketing campaign very late, the latest ever in history for Marvel film. And if you start so late you better come out with a banger of trailer, instead they put out two medicore trailers which failed to generate very big hype and bring long sustained attention to the film. Imo some of the late spots they put out sold this film better than either of trailers but it was and is kinda late to create bigger buzz.
  14. I must say, from my perspective this film has very weak marketing campaign, first of all, for some reason it started very very late and neither of two trailers or any of other various promos made big impression on me, nothing really memorable, especially compared to Ragnarok's trailers and marketing, lacks this special kind of kinetic energy and doesn’t create much of buzz. I belive that Love&Thunder will be a great film but imo they ain't selling it well.
  15. It's so funny, the way Rotten Tomatoes were being extra careful as they were afraid WW84 situation, were waiting so long to certify it fresh and the moment they did that the exact thing they were afraid did happen lmao. Hillarious.
  16. First of all I'm suprised that with film under 3 months away it's really just a teaser, not a full blown trailer called teaser like it's often a case this days. Second, my first impression, I don’t like it very much, nothing spectacular, doesn't hold a candle to Ragnarok teaser. You could release something like this 6 months away, from the release (as typical in form but still quite weak true teaser) but with less than 90 days away from release starting marketing with weak stuff like this? Wierd.
  17. Batman is one of the most popular superheros ever, maybe he even is the most popular superhero in history, we live in peak of golden era of superhero movies. This film opening around 130 mln $ or even less is mighty dissapointing. Of course, as we already can see, in coming days there will be countless attempts to spin it as success. It's not.
  18. Nah, you are just spitting out nonsense after nonsense about No Way Home run lately, constantly bitching about it and complaining, so I was just curious if you are for serious or just trolling, apparently it's the former so that's big yikes on the spikes.
  19. Some poeple in this thread are either really boring ass trolls or are really moronic, hard to tell.
  20. I liked it quite a bit, imo best film in franchise since original Matrix. It made more sense to me than Reloaded and Revolutions. Also Jessica Henwick was fantastic, love her in this film.
  21. Pixar and Disney Animation films proving that even in changing environment quality and goodwill build with audience from decades of great films guarantee success and cultural relevance, past films found it in theaters, nowadays they do it on streaming. Soul, Luca and now Encanto, huge hits for Disney plus, good films will always find the audience.
  22. Now the only question is if Sony will go with 245 mln or they will want at least "beating TFA" headlines on Sunday and will go with 250 mln. It surely will be a round number. The actuals day later will be obviously higher
