  1. I've done some reading online and Better Days is still doing incredibly well at the box office. It makes me wonder how far can it go. Can it make it into the Top 10 for highest grossing Films in China?
  2. I think Joker's going to hit 1B somewhere in between Next Monday through Friday.
  3. Currently, Born 1982 is at 2.6M admissions and has a gross of 18M, going on 19M soon. I think it'll end somewhere around the 30M range or so.
  4. American Sniper: Am I joke to you? I think American Sniper's run was very impressive for 2015. I don't think anyone expected that movie to gross 350M and make 547M Worldwide. Not only that, in the month of January, the dumping ground where movies are placed in.
  5. Other than the presales for Rise Of Skywalker, are you guys going to also check in on the ticket presales for Frozen 2?
  6. For comparison, the first IT movie made 19.3M, or 2.08 Billion Yen (correct me if I'm wrong). Curious to see how It 2 plays out in Japan.
  7. Deadline did an an explanation as to why Japan releases movies late (someone correct me if their wrong on this): If I recall. this is one of the reasons why the movies come in so late.
  8. YES. That'd be an amazing way to end the year: Have the Top 10 be billion dollar movies. It would be the first time in history that all 10 films have done it.
  9. @xiazhi Are there any examples of Disney lowballing? Maleficent 2 is one of them (since it got edged out a bit), but I can't think of any others. I do agree about the actuals though, they were slightly apart, but not by a whole lot.
  10. @Valonqar Agreed. There's no fixing the headlines at this point for the Joker movie. So it's going to stay like this for a bit.
  11. Underestimated Predictions? At least, that's what I think. Seeing how I've recently joined the Box Office Subreddit on Reddit and the BOT forum, there have been some things I've noticed, but mainly on the BO Subreddit. From looking at the old Joker estimates/predictions on r/boxoffice, people were predicting Joker to gross less while It Chapter 2 would end up doing more. In the end, it was the complete opposite, especially Joker, since no one predicted the movie would be that big. Then there were the live action re-imaginings from Disney that came out: Lion King, Aladdin, and Dumbo. While Dumbo did do horrible, the internet vocal minority were expecting movies like The Lion King and Aladdin to flop, when both of them ended up becoming billion dollar successes. Dumbo isn't really all that popular of a Disney IP, hence why it didn't do too hot at the box office. However, movies like Aladdin and The Lion King were both successful due to both nostalgia and also being two of the most popular Disney IPs and original films, especially Lion King (it still is the highest grossing traditional animated film ever). But there's also The Rise Of Skywalker, the finale to the Skywalker Saga, and people have suddenly lost interest/disinterest towards the last film after The Last Jedi's mixed reception and the box office bomb of Solo. The future (and box office) regarding the end of this saga is concerning.
  12. Golden Globe nominations are possible. They did recently tweet about the movie being the biggest R-Rated film ever.
  13. Yeah, that would make sense. I didn't even know Zathura was a sequel, I thought it was a prequel of some sorts. Still, one of my favorite movies.
  14. Oh yeah, that too. Both Cats/Jumanji can find a way coexist with TROS. Even though Jum3 comes out earlier and before TROS.
  15. @Brainbug Technically it's Jumanji 3. There's Jumanji, Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, and Jumanji: The Next Level
  16. I feel like with Cats, we might end up having a Jumanji/Greatest Showman situation. It happened last time with TLJ, so it might end up repeating again with TROS.
  17. I'm going to wait to see how it all goes during the weekend. That being said, where do you guys think the overseas run will end at? The movie's currently in the 490s in terms of millions so far.
  18. I'm looking on Maoyan, and so far, only 35k users have marked it as "Want To See", overall, not that much.
  19. @efialtes76 I was going to say I live in the US and can access it fine, unless it's down over where you live.
