  1. There are film programmers, box office analytics, etc, who use BOM to check stuff. And now they've pretty much shot themselves in the foot, went over to IMDB Pro, without any warning whatsoever.
  2. Edgar Wright, Grace Randolph, they all made tweets regarding the BOM redesign too.
  3. @BoxOfficeFangrl I just checked and The Numbers DOES contain ticket sales, although not inflation adjusted ones, it comes close: https://www.the-numbers.com/market/2019/summary
  4. @Plain Old Tele I wasn't around there for it, but I found info regarding it: ....Could this actually happen again this year?
  5. I was going to say, since the site has pretty much stayed the same for 20 years with some changes here and there, is it possible to revive the old code/UI or is it impossible to do so?
  6. Man, what's even going to happen to the future of Charting With Dan. I enjoy that show, but now that everything from BOM's old site is gone and has been placed into a paywall, it makes me wonder how it'll continue as the weeks go by.
  7. I'm literally betting that because of this redesign, not a lot of people are going to look at BoxOfficeMojo or even go to the site. This has taken an overall effect on the box office industry and for those who track the numbers.
  8. Man, they are going to lose a LOT of people. The fact that there are those who want to check out the box office numbers be it for fun, using it as a source, finding out about records, etc, has now been put behind a paywall sucks.
  9. @JB33 I mean, if there's enough in terms of backlash, then it's possible. Seeing how there was ones with Sonic, James Gunn, and Spider-Man to get everything back in order, then Box Office Mojo can too. It just needs to be trending or something like that in order for them to take notice.
  10. Not only that, the release years. The new BOM site goes up to 2020 and that's it, the old one went up to 2021 and beyond those numbers, and it was organized.
  11. Man, how are we even going to get theater counts for this thing? At least the old BoxOfficeMojo website was up-to-date with everything, this one has a lot of wrong data and issues. Everything else is behind a paywall.
  12. At this point, we're going to have to look to The Numbers, the forums (World Of KJ or BOT), and Twitter Box office stuff, and that's mainly it. Personally, I think they should've stated an announcement on the new design and plan to launch it in 2020. It would be better that way instead of, you know, launching it at the last minute and near the end of 2019.
  13. The Q&A for BOM on IMDB is just...I don't know what to say. I mean, this is just snarky sounding as hell. They should've at least announced or let people know that the site was changing instead of quietly doing it in an unannounced matter. If only we had the IMDB forums for that, but NOPE.
  14. Is it possible to pull a "Sonic" on this website or no? Because of this redesign, people are now going to flock somewhere else for results.
  15. They need to fix several of the All Time stuff, including months and MPAA ratings because they are very inaccurate. Here it was on the old redesign: And here it is on the new design:
  16. A guy on Twitter named Adam B Vary posted a few of the new updates regarding the BOM Redesign Site, including: You can't adjust individual films for ticket price inflation anymore. All data for people & studios has moved to IMDb Pro Franchise rankings are now entirely on IMDb Pro, but only with domestic grosses. So, for example, it's impossible to know the global take for the MCU. And another user on Twitter mentioned: No theater counts for the week, no genres section. Records page is no longer comprehensive and only shows the top 200.
  17. I know this most likely won't happen, but I seriously wish that IMDB/Amazon could pull a Reddit, where you're able to visit the old site and still look at the box office data from there. The new redesign I'll get used to as time goes on, but I definitely sense that some people just won't use it anymore due to this new look. And it came in without no announcement too.
  18. I can't even find the Actors, Studios in terms of Market Share. They got rid of the All Time Box Office Records for the remainder months and holidays, so we can't even see that either. All the Box Office Data for actors, directors, producers, etc is all on IMDB Pro.
  19. @CJohn Misread your comment on Mal2's weekend, my bad. I thought you meant here in the US domestically, because Mal2 over here opened a lot lower compared to the first film, Dumbo, and Aladdin. So yeah, it's bad.
