  1. So...is it possible for Top Gun to go back to #1 this weekend? I have a feeling it's reaching 1b WW by sunday as well, which would be...insane.
  2. Just came here to say that following Maverick's numbers have been nothing short of amazing. Both as a fan of Tom Cruise (as an artist only) and cinemas. If a year ago we were all not sure if theaters would still live after the pandemic, i'm loving to see they are not only going nowhere but people are surprising all these studios. I hope to see Maverick in a week from now though.
  3. Jesus...and just a week ago some people were calling the 100M predictions crazy. For a non-comic book movie or some huge multi-movie franchise this is honestly remarkable. It's a sequel for an 80's movie and that's always a huge gamble. Tom Cruise will not flop any time soon. No way those back-to-back Mission Impossible movies will fail as well. Incredible 3-run movie this guy is about to have. Shame about the cult he's a part of because as an artist there's no denying he's one of the best at what he does.
  4. I've seen people say there's no hype for Avatar 2...but as soon that trailer started my theater erupted in a huge gasp followed by an applause. I've never seen that for a trailer like this. Thor Love and Thunder trailer played and got nowhere nearly that reaction...and mind you i watched this movie in a theater full of Marvel fans since it was the 1st day. About MOM...this was more violent than i excpected..holy shit. For a marvel movie and the fact it's PG13 i was surprised!
  5. One MCU movie underperforming wouldn't teach Disney anything. The MCU can handle a few movies not doing big numbers. When the first Captain America underperformed they kind of rebooted the IP and made it a hit. Same for Thor's movies actually after the 2nd movie. Thor is just too big now to under perform like that.
  6. So this premieres on HBO Max in a week and it's a WW release it seems. Watching Dune and The Batmangetting back to back banners in there will be glorious. HBO Max has been killing it lately!
  7. At this point i wouldn't be surprised if Uncharted surpassed the first Sonic's $149M domestic to become the biggest videogame to movie adaptation ever at the domestic BO. (probably temporary since the 2nd movie is about to come out)
  8. A movie doing 40M on its debut weekend on a 70M budget is amazing no matter how shitty the movie is. This will break even in like 3 weeks with WW numbers probably. Another hit for Sony almost for sure. Wom will be horrible and for sure it won't have Uncharted legs though. Still if it does 200M ww it's more than enough for the movie. That would be almost 3x its budget already.
  9. Wait...this movie has a $70M budget only? @charlie Jatinder also posted this in another topic yesterday: Also saw this on twitter...not sure if reliable If this $75M production manages a $50M domestic debut then this will be a HUGE win for Sony. It'll be profitable by its 2nd weekend WW lmao.
  10. Uncharted back at having weekdays of over 1M? Is it just me or the movie has a shot at reaching 140M domestic at this point? I mean this next weekend it'll probably do close to 9/10M again...plus an increase on weekdays so around 13M this week. That's still super good. I just checked...and these are the biggest videogame adaptations ever at the domestic BO ever: This is for sure surpassing Tomb Raider...but the fact that's it's approacing the 2 big ones: Sonic and Detective Pikachu is honestly unreal to me. Could Uncharted do another 35M and surpass Sonic if these holds can be maintained? Who knows at this point...but 140M must be certain now.
  11. Uncharted's projections keep going up following the lack on that expected huge decrease after Batman release. Insane how there's market right now for Uncharted to still do these numbers and even Spider-Man to have those small decreases. I don't expect 10M this weekend for it...that would be insane. But if it manages 9M would be huge, IMO. Overall projections keep increasing week after week btw: 135-145M now. Without huge movies i can see Batman and Uncharted to keep these great holds tbh.
  12. Uncharted having No Way Home holds in its 3rd thursday even after Batman was released. Remember when some were predicting this one to be lucky to reach 100M domestic? If it somehow manages 130M it would be an incredible result. It's hitting 300M WW before its China release as well. I was expecting it to plummet after Batman, lmao.
  13. Uncharted having the same budget and domestic BO would be a great win in my opinion. Seems like it might do just that. Is $290M / $300M this weekend WW too much to ask?
  14. I'm sure it can do 100M more without China. From the USA alone is probably doing at least 35 / 40M more. It's not unreasonable to imagine 60M more WW. Probably more. So yeah 325/350M without China. It depends on how Batman cuts Uncharted's legs.
  15. Tom Holland’s ‘Uncharted’ Nears $150 Million at International Box Office, Crosses $220 Million Globally Jesus...220M already
  16. -1% during your first wednesday > thursday is quite great, right? Seems like this could be a decent weekend for Uncharted.
  17. I was just thinking how Sony has been at Tom Holland's side for like 7 years already. He was hired for Spider-Man back in 2015 and somehow Sony has always been with him since then. Spider-Man trilogy (plus 3 other MCU movies), then Uncharted, Fred Astaire biopic. He has signed for another 3 Spider-Man movies, now we'll get almost for sure another Uncharted...he won't be leaving them any time soon.
  18. What's the budget for that one? I have a weird feeling this will flop...but who knows anymore.
  19. With Uncharted being a hit and The Last of Us being promising sounds like a great start for PlayStation Productions. Naughty Dog IPs are truly shining even without releasing any games for almost 2 years.
  20. I'm just happy that a year ago people were saying movie theatres were dying and it seems like the pandemic didn't change people's minds about going out to watch movies at the big screen. I got scared for a while there, lol. These are very good numbers and theatres are still not even working at their fullest.
  21. Same here. The movie didn't deserve to be that hated on. When you have stuff like The Hulk, the first 2 Thor's, Iron Man 2 and 3, Black Widow, Age of Ultron, low-key even the first two Spider-Man movies weren't good...hell even Shang Chi was so by the numbers and falls apart during the last hour while Eternals last few set pieces, fights and even that twist were just so good.
  22. Jesus...you guys must miss a lot of movies if you go by scores on websites...
  23. Well since people are so interested in rotten tomatoes and apparently they are the standard for quality, Venom 2 is a 58 in there opposed to the 30 the first one got. So it must mean it's twice as good. They did improve. (Although I have yet to meet a person that prefers the second movie to the first one to be honest)
