As usual Mexico not being one of the top 5 for original disney animation… Pixar, Illumination and DreamWork’s originals have Mexico as one of the top 5
Anecdotal, but I am in Japan and I have listened to "this wish" song a couple of times at two different, and random restaurants.
does anyone have any music chart or data that could indicate a break out song?
I have a feeling it will have nice legs, and a decent opening weekend (this movie had a nice marketing campaign, bc of disney 100 cards). Hoping for 400M+. I wish 500M
We are very aware of encanto-mania, but come on! Frozen is the biggest blu ray seller beating avatar, frozen is the biggest itunes seller, elsa doll has beaten barbie (the only doll to do it). Mirabel never achieved that. And tbh streaming data is inflated due to kids rewatching the movie many many times during pandemic
Let it to has almost 3 billion reproductions on youtube. Encanto falls even behind Coco songs in spanish! Plus encanto flopped in China where the situation about covid was fine when the film was released, and it has never been a huge sensation in asia, where frozen is huge
Now imagine frozen during tiktok era. It would have been even bigger. Lets be honest tiktok inflates perception. Ofc Encanto was huge, but never at frozen level. And streaming has proved that indeed, Encanto would have donde way better, but even Moana has passed Encanto in disney plus trends and nielsen data
Hell no, the level of success of frozen worldwide is way too big to be beaten by Encanto.
Just look what frozen franchise has done, Encanto could never

I just hope this movie does 500M WW. 550M+ would be great. Wish has the advantage of having a great marketing campaign with the trading card game on tiktok that is making the songs viral and it has increased awareness. At least people stop calling Asha a copy of Isabella.
Ok but Mario, is the most popular video game character, and sing 2 is a sequel to a popular film vs. two original films, one set in Colombia and Elemental is a film with a weird concept.
If universal’s migration is a huge success, then Disney animation and pixar really have a brand problem
I think Elio has the problem of being an animated movie that takes place in the espace. And we have seen that all of them have failed: treasure planet, mars need moms, lightyear and strange world
