The reworking the show into the movie makes me think this isn't gonna be great... sounds like a move of desperation unless this pivot was done early in production.

Hope Heron holds ok for the month. I saw the Imax preview but am looking forward to seeing the English dub sometime in the next week.

I loved this movie. Visually amazing and great performances. Some things with the the narrative kinda didn't work but that aside totally dug it.

I saw Bottoms yesterday when I was in LA, had no idea it was only in 10 theaters. Very curious to see how it expands, found it pretty entertaining.

Hm. If that Barbie # comes true then that would be closer to 50% weekend drop. Guessing # will be much higher.

TMNT will hopefully play well for the next couple of months. Market will be pretty empty of choices for families, again. Too bad Elemental will probably not be in enough theaters to continue its run.

Deadline also reporting 34m Barbie and 18.1 Oppenheimer Saturdays. Fantastic. Talk To Me hitting $10m is pretty impressive. Go A24. I could see the movie holding well.

Haunted Mansion is only getting Dolby for less a week cause of TMNT, at least in my area.

... maybe WB should move Blue Beatle to that October spot idk lol but I guess it won't do that well whereever Very curious to see what happens for the rest of the year. Think Dune will move, and if that happens Marvels should just move up a week.

20m+ weekdays all week and a sizable Friday increase did seem like too much. Anything above 81m 2nd weekend for Barbie I'll be happy with.

Anything over $20m for Wednesday is fantastic but flat from Tuesday would be so insane. $100m+ 2nd weekend would definitely be in play jesus

More Dolby screens would be very welcome, they're almost always fully booked for big movies. I have a theater less than 5 minutes away from me but they only have 1 mediocre Imax screen. Would definitely go more if they built a Dolby theater.

Saturday's #s will be very interesting. In my area Barbie looked pretty full at late night shows while Oppenheimer lacked showtimes after 9.

Barbie is definitely a game changer, especially if it hits $1 billion. The good is there probably will be more projects greenlit geared towards women. The bad is seeing the studios greenlight stuff that they think is the next 'Barbie' when I don't know if any other IP can replicate this insanity.

Oppenheimer opening that high is really insane. The film is fantastic so I'm happy but still wow.

I saw Barbie earlier; enjoyed it but I can see some not caring for it, very curious about its legs. If I had seen this without knowing about the sheer insane hype of it I would've never guessed it would open to $150m+.

What's crazy is if WB never did the 2021 day and date... Oppenheimer probably would've been a WB release and Barbenheimer would have never happen. Ironic.

Gerwig should do a DC movie. She'd be wasted in the MCU machine. Her doing Gotham City Sirens would be a dream. Hope Margot continues as Harley.

... $150m+ is jaw dropping for a movie like this... but $200m+ may be the most impressive opening ever. I am so stoked for this film. If its anything like some of these reactions are saying I think this is gonna be something really special. Such a shame its coming out during the beginning of this strike.
