  1. I do not trust David Zaslav to leave Gunn and Safran to work on their DC universe in peace.
  2. It's officially confirmed now, at least. Which isn't a major update, but it gives these sites a morsel to report on.
  3. Came out of nowhere. But I'm excited.
  4. They're putting their money on the things that have their shit together somewhat (Pixar). And while Alien hasn't had the best track record, the announcement of a new film should at least generate some excitement.
  5. That, too. People who maybe missed out on the initial hype now have the chance to discover it. The first movie is going to be fresh on their minds, which will help going into the coming weeks. I think anywhere between $55-100M OW is possible here.
  6. Not that I ever truly doubted, but I'm slowly getting sucked into the hype on this one. - The goodwill from the first movie (in its initial release and streaming) - No HBO Max or piracy this time - The increased star power of Timothee Chalamet (and Zendaya) - The fact that February is a barren desert for new releases
  7. Not really, honestly. Cavill is out as Superman and his movies have too much baggage to be a draw for audiences. Affleck wanted out after making Justice League. Wonder Woman 84 tanked a lot of the goodwill the first movie had. The Flash isn't going anywhere.
  8. Plus, I'll bet Zaslav is happy with this since this is a relatively inexpensive choice. Milly is just moving from one Warner Bros property to another.
  9. I expect we'll get our first look sometime in April. That's when the new Omen movie comes out (another Fox property) and April 26 is Alien Day (LV-426).
  10. TIL: Sarah Watson, key-makeup artist for The Northman and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is working on this movie.
  11. Hasn't been revealed. But they had a film scheduled for that date and now it's vacant.
  12. Pixar is more or less Disney's strongest (or least damaged) brand going into 2024: - Marvel has lost a lot of its goodwill between the VFX drama, less-than-stellar box office, and the disastrous reception to Secret Invasion forcing them to rethink their whole strategy. - WDAS just removed their next film from November 2024, probably to re-evaluate and do some much-needed soul searching. It's probably no coincidence that they're re-releasing Soul, Luca, and Turning Red in theaters to make up for how empty their slate is.
  13. Saw this yesterday. Easily the best Illumination movie since Despicable Me 2. Very formulaic but sweet, charming, and to the point. Will play well with families over the holidays.
  14. The level of pressure on this movie is astonishing. It has to: - Help get the ball rolling on a rebooted franchise. - Begin restoring trust in a damaged brand - Revive an iconic character for general audiences - Help not put WB deeper in the hole
