  1. I still hope the DCU thing works out, I'm just saying that he has options and doesn't have to go down with a sinking ship.
  2. Very true, though it depends on what Zaslav defines as a disappointment. Perhaps they don't interfere with Superman: Legacy because Superman is a safe bet and it's a big hit. So we're good there. But what if these tax write offs continue and one of them is a DCU project that sounds promising? Or a creator Gunn and Safran try to get ducks out because they don't want their work to get shelved? Now maybe it won't come to that, but what reason is there to trust Zaslav and Co at this point?
  3. Well, you're not wrong per say. I was just referring to how I do not trust Zaslav to significantly mettle or f*** up Gunn and Safran's program.
  4. Fair enough. But my other points still stand. I acknowledge that the company is in serious debt and that unpopular decisions have to be made. Though it's hard to imagine that the solutions Zaslav is offering will be worth it in the long term.
  5. I've said it before but it continues to bear repeating: This mess is what happens when a reality TV mogul in charge of a studio that makes scripted entertainment and animation. Warner Bros Discovery is essentially a bakery currently being run by a butcher.
  6. Even so, this sets a horrible precedent. If they can scrap a project written by the man who is in a key creative position at Warner Bros, what reason does any filmmaker have to trust this regime or work with them?
  7. People didn't care about Captain America prior to 2011 (or 2014 if you want to stretch it). I sincerely believe that one really good movie (non-controversial) would do wonders for the public perception of Superman.
  8. They still ultimately had to make a deal instead of waiting for the WGA to get burned out. And they ended up paying more than they would have in the original deal.
  9. I hope this passes and throws a wrench in the AMPTP's plans. But seriously, I can't understand the logic of trying to stall negotiations when that failed them the last time.
  10. I can't believe that studios are doing this song and dance routine again. Did they learn nothing from the last 5 months?
