  1. Fatigue hits every franchise, it happens. And it will start to show with this because it hit a peak I mean, it already hit fatigue before. Was miraculously revived and had a good 3 film run.
  2. A lot of marketing doesn't equate to "good" marketing necessarily. I don't think any of the trailers were as great as the Fallout trailers, personally. And since the teaser dropped last May, I've probably seen it in front of roughly 50 movies since
  3. tell me kids dont like flashy colors, slapstick and silly humor and gigantic action setpieces/musical numbers without telling me-
  4. This person sounds like a moron. If children can handle star lord saying F and Lego Movie or whatever happens in a Pixar film, they'll be fine. When did this country become such plebs?
  5. In your opinion, haven't not seen it.. doesn't mean you're the definitive gospel of speculation towards Barbie. It's ok to admit you're wrong and move on, I'm trying to explain. you'll feel much better instead of spending hours peddling ideas that do not merely reflect the reality of the situation, at all.

  7. it's real. There's a lot of real ones on there. And many lists, as well https://letterboxd.com/mardarrius/list/the-year-of-2023/ https://letterboxd.com/jamiecinematics/list/2023-first-time-watches-ranked/ https://letterboxd.com/laurengarafano/list/2023-ranked/ https://letterboxd.com/thebatdude/list/every-2023-film-release-seen/ (also has seen Oppenheimer, apparently) https://letterboxd.com/spotts/list/2023/ https://letterboxd.com/cinematicreel/list/2023-releases-ranked/ https://letterboxd.com/newsock/film/barbie/2/ https://letterboxd.com/alison/list/2023-ranked/
  8. Some critics won't like it due to the camp and satire (some will find it unsubtle, etc), but I don't anticipate truly mixed reception based on experience and what we all know. ruimy will of course focus on them due to his agenda but I don't imagine that will be the consensus. The marketing does tease the movie very well and that's what people want.. ask and you shall receive. Audience scores from Letterboxd (not the trolls who haven't seen) look to be strong.
  9. Joy Ride 7/1 7:00PM Sneak Preview About 3/4 full Trailers: That Wesley Snipes stripper comedy??? Shortcomings Hunger Games Expendables I thought it wasn't very funny but the theater disagreed. Audience seemed into it. Couple scenes got a big reaction of laughs. No applause at end or anything
  10. Saw the Joy Ride sneak preview tonight... If this and No Hard Feelings are meant to revive the theatrical studio comedy.... well, let's not cancel the funeral just yet (But what do I know? The theater was going insane throughout. But I miss when comedies had... comedy. And not "jokes" about how white a show Friends was or sprinkling profanity into every sentence. The raunchy comedy died 10 years ago, let it rest. Apatow, Todd Phillips, the Farrelly Bros, Ben Stiller.. they all did!)
  11. Yes. He's clickbait with a vendetta against the film since it's feminist. He's on a mission to sink it by any means. I even reached out to him after the screening to inform him what he's been peddling was inaccurate and he ignored me of course lol
