  1. Would love to see Barbie go over 170 but could be tough with burned demand, capacity space and lower ticket prices, etc. Happy for 160s. Would be a top WB opener and highest opener for a female director. And if it finishes over 477m, it'll be the highest domestic film directed by a woman. And if it somehow goes over 534m, it'll be WB's highest domestic grosser Still, what a massive achievement regardless
  2. Oppenheimer IMAX 70mm 7/21 10:am Sold out Trailers: (dont remember them all) Gran Torismo The Holdovers Dune Flower Moon The Exorcist Occasional laughs. Applause at end

  4. I doubt it's a bluff reading the article But also, a push seems less than ideal since it's not a film that really needs the actor campaign

  6. Barbie Blowout Party 7/19 7:00PM Sold out No trailers Audience was packed, a lot of women and lots of pink. Tons of laughs
  7. Literal midnight and 1am showtimes are being added to both Oppenheimer and Barbie This insanity reminds me of Endgame of course but also Deathly Hollows Part 2
  8. Happy for Greta and happy for all the naysayers eating crow Major box office and potentially a third consecutive Best Picture nominee
  9. Jamie Lee Curtis was in the Best Picture winner that also won 2 other acting awards and SAG Ensemble. The industry and especially actors loved that film and she campaigned heavily which a lot of actors will suffer from this year. She was at least wacky and did stunts and cried in the movie. Of course Oppenheimer can emerge as a major contender but I don't think it'll have the same level of broad support, especially from actors.
  10. I don't think RDJ's role/performance is as actor friendly as Pitt's at all. That was a classic QT character. I'm thinking the scenario would be Gosling gets the SAG and RDJ gets the BAFTA.
  11. RDJ is getting raves for Oppenheimer. He has a comeback narrative brewing and goodwill. The SAG strike will hinder his campaign chances (he would be incredible during promotion and charismatic) but he seems very good for the nomination atm

  15. This will hurt films that certainly need their actors to campaign ala Maestro, etc Films that can rely on director campaigns should be fine I imagine we'll see lots of bumps
  16. Why are you putting words in my mouth after speculating a hypothetical theory out loud based out of personal opinion
