    This is opening a week before SW? Dumb. However, I don't think this would've been a 100 million hit anyway, regardless of opening date, let alone an "easy 100 million dollar hit." We know that Hemsworth is not a draw when he is not playing superhero.

    True. Back in 2002, it seemed like MBFGW was all that everyone in my family (Caucasians of Welsh/French/Polish descent) could talk about. I also remember a Puerto Rican family who lived across our street and also loved the movie.

    It goes without saying that this will not come even close to the box office take of the first, but I can certainly see it being a Mamma Mia!/Devil Wears Prada-sized counterprogramming hit against the Big Bad Superhero blockbuster (MM/TDK, DWP/Superman Returns).

    AVATAR was racist? LOL The things people detractors will make up just to belittle the film. Get over it, haters. AVATAR got great reviews, extraordinary word of mouth, Oscar love, and the biggest box office take ever. And no matter how much you want to believe that audiences hated the film and that they only liked the “shiny colors,” you don't even believe it yourself because facts don’t lie: it was a well-loved, well-reviewed smash that only a very vocal minority of internet fanboys hate. Bye.

    That's the problem. She seems, as of late, to be uninterested in directing or being in anything commercial, Maleficent notwithstanding. And come on, no matter how powerful she is, power in Hollywood is measured by your last hit. Give her enough flops, and she will be discarded.

    Wow...the reviews are brutal and the film seems like an insufferably pretentious attempt at the kind of old-school movie aesthetic that Todd Haynes can actually make work for today's audiences. I am rooting for Angie, but after three shots, it's kinda clear she is just not a good director. Someone please tell her to go back to her action heroine wheelhouse, and if she wants to make a great dramatic film, tell her to hire a director that can direct.

    Unlike Hanks, Jolie has a vagina, which intrinsically makes her more prone to be discarded by the Hollywood powers that be. I wish she would regain her commercial instincts. Come on, Angie, tell the Wonder Woman producers that you'd like to play Cheetah or Circe. I bet they won't be able to refuse and you'll get yet another box office smash.
