Good opening here in Italy (50% more than Death on the Nile), and I just saw all the promotional videos that Tom Holland made with 3 different Italian youtubers/comedians while in Rome, plus the video with Francesco Totti for Universal Studios, impressive stuff 😅

EG, Avatar and TFA made b/w 80-100M in Canada and NWH is at what? 55? No reason to believe it wouldn't have done significantly worse. So i thought maybe 20M was lost there.
I'm pretty sure they made 80/100M but in Canadian dollars, while in American dollars the total would be lower (but I dont know how much lower)

DOM 350m +China 80m +OS 400m will be good
Well that would be quite bad 😅
I'm thinking about 400M in Usa/Canada, 500M or more overseas and 50/100M in China

Believe it can clear 800M without an expansion. Jumanji WTTJ made 4.4 times Pres wknd (3 day). TFA made 4.55x. These trends are not that difficult anymore, Spidey lands at 798M and 799M respectively. They had to compete with home video releases too iirc. With an expansion 820M is possible I believe. If it had a fully functional Canada during Dec maybe 840M was possible?
Obviusly not, Canada isn't as big as you think and it has already grossed very well there. And you are probably overstimating both the "main" run and the possible re-expansion

Personally I predict Batman will take $80-100m from China.
Batman have same situation as James Bond in China:The Character is well-known and nearly everybody heard of them, but they are not popular nowadays, not many young people like and talk about Batman,So I think Batman performance in China will same as NTTD.
I think the same, at least those millions will probably be really useful to pass the $1B mark

The film is opening better than expected, I think it could even exceed 300M International, including China. And it will most likely surpass the 200M International excluding it

In addition, from March 10 food and drinks will be allowed in theaters again, so we can already expect a good hold for Batman in its second weekend...

Disney's youtube channel has released a short clip announcing the return of Encanto to theaters, following its 3 Oscar nominations
The film is currently at 94M in Usa/Canada and 145M in the rest of the world for a $239M total (and in Colombia it's in the top 10 of all-time), let's see how far it will go

With the sequel already in the works this “””milestone””” means nothing. Anyway better $401 than $399 but I don’t get why Dune gets weekly international updates while NTTD no. With the latter grossing almost the double.
Yeah I've been thinking about it for a while, in my opinion every film should be updated constantly until their run is over
The total of No Time to Die in fact hasn't been touched since mid-December and I have no doubt that in the meantime it has more or less reached the 780M

Oh wow that's a good hold, at this point can it maybe aim for the 4M?

Over a billion for each is guaranteed. MoM is riding the multiverse tidal wave and is propped by Wanda and Strange enhanced popularity thanks to Wandavision, Avengers movies and NWH. Thor:Love and Thunder will increase from Ragnarok (which was already close to billion with 853M WW. Again, character's enhanced popularity ever since, Waititi's touch and Christian Bale (this casting created a lot of hype). BP:Wakanda Forever comes off a 1.3B grossing first movie. Even if the sequel drops (RIP Chadwick, Wright controversy, who is the new BP?), it wouldn't drop below 1B. Also, Thanksgiving legs.
Excluding China Thor Ragnarok grossed "only" 742M, so it's definitely not impossible but it will be more complicated than expected

This ain't beating Doctor Strange.
Sorry but I think it will make at least $300M more (1.5B vs 1.1/1.2B). If then we want to exclude China for some reasons they'll be more or less on par

NWH Performance in Japan is not very good actually.
Maybe the popularity of Spiderman flopped these years in Japan
Maybe their "desire" for superheroes (Spider-Man included) is already satisfied by recent and local alternatives like My Hero Academia, One Punch Man, Jujutsu Kaisen etc, but I can't be sure
-
I repost the list of highest grossing superhero movies in Japan now that No Way Home has reached the sixth place all-time
¥7.50 billion ($59.2 million) - Spider-Man (2002)
¥7.12 billion ($66.9 million) - Spider-Man 3 (2007)
¥6.70 billion ($61.1 million) - Spider-Man 2 (2004)
¥6.13 billion ($55.3 million) - Avengers: Endgame (2019)
¥5.06 billion ($46.7 million) - Joker (2019)
¥3.84 billion ($33.3 million) - Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
¥3.74 billion ($34.1 million) - Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
¥3.61 billion ($46.2 million) - The Avengers (2012)
¥3.21 billion ($26 million) - Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
¥3.16 billion ($39.1 million) - The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
¥3.14 billion ($30.7 million) - The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
¥3.06 billion ($28.1 million) - Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)
¥3.00 billion ($20 million) - Batman (1989)

Am I the only one who expects Batman to gross less than Uncharted? And could Moonfall surprise everyone by grossing over 100 million and save itself from the flop?

So 410 from China then would take us to 2.3B
Well I wish it was that simple 😄, but I noticed that in many Asian countries (including Taiwan and Hong Kong) the increase was lower and stopped at around 70/80% more than Far From Home, if not even less (like Japan and South Korea)
-
Considering that at the end of its run No way Home will have grossed exactly double of Far From Home excluding China (1.86B vs 930M), I think the same could happen with Doctor Strange. The first movie grossed $678M, 570M excluding China, and for the sequel I expect about $1.14B
-
I just noticed that, excluding its Chinese gross, No Way Home will end up grossing exactly two times more Far From Home, both domestically and internationally
Excluding the 205M grossed in China (even if BoxOfficeMojo wrongly has it at 199M), Far From Home has grossed 390M Domestic and 537M International, while No Way Home will end with about 780M Domestic and 1.07/1.08B International, for a total of $1.85/1.86B compared to the $927M of Far From Home

In the end France passed South Korea, while Germany is having relly good legs and might reach the $50M
Japan on the other hand remains a disappointment, but if it manages to overtake India it wouldn't be that bad

Encanto have grossed another million in Usa/Canada (now at 95M), for news about the rest of the world we'll have to wait a couple of days...
