I have a great idea to solve all the problems, they should choose Mimie Mathy (French actress) for the role of Snow White and then have 7 dudes 190 cm (6.2 feet) tall for the roles of the seven dwarfs...

I hate this word Propaganda used to demean Chinese box office. Like every fucking War movie is propaganda movie but never saw Dunkirk called Propaganda movie by mainstream media.
Yeah there is little doubt that several Chinese blockbusters are not really disguised propaganda, but Americans (and their media) are probably the least self-aware population in the world...

I don't know what exactly you are leaving out, but No Way Home will be $400M+. The entire Europe will be $461M Approx. Russia & Ukraine making $56M of that. Others like Serbia, Kosovo, Bosnia, Montenegro, Albania and Macedonia are less than $1.75M, leaving behind $403M.
Ah no 300/325M wasn't a prediction, this was the the provisional number updated to more than a week ago and with several countries still missing

It had been dropping 20-30% each week and can make another 35k+ in next five weeks with sub 30-35% drops. Would be tight race to see if it reaches Joker and Endgame before it releases on OTT.

Nightmare Alley debuts in first position quite well, grossing more than "The Wolf and The Lion" and "No Way Home" combined
In the meantime House of Gucci has passed "Me Contro Te 2" at 5.1M and is now the sixth highest grossing film of 2021. Really not bad, Italy was the seventh largest market for this film and it doesn't happen very often

Week 2 ~ 719M (-56.5%)
Week 3 ~ 460M expected (-36%)
Total ~ 3293M in 3 weeks
Seems like ¥4-4.15B full run.
I really hope so, above Furious 9, above Infinity War and also above the ¥4B mark, at this point it's difficult asking for something more

I wanted to compare the top 20 EU+UK with the top 20 USA+Canada (link), obviously not for the amount of money grossed (also because we would practically compare the gross of 20 American movies in Europe with their gross in the US itself...), but for genres and franchises
In particular in Europe we can see 4 Harry Potter films, 3 of Lord of the Rings and 2 for the Hobbit, James Bond and Star Wars. In the US on the other hand we can see 6 Star Wars films plus 6 of superheroes (vs only Endgame in Europe), not to mention that Age of Ultron missed the top 20 for only $2 million. There are also 5 animated films and Disney remakes, while in Europe there are only The Lion King 2019 and Ice Age 3
So here is the European top 5 of some "less present" genres:
Animated top 5
Ice Age 3 - 410M
Frozen 2 - 335M
Minions - 325M
Ice Age 4 - 305M
Shrek 2 - 300M
Superhero top 5
Endgame - 420M
No Way Home - 300/325M
Infinity War - 315M
Joker - 290M
The Dark Knight Rises - 260M
Star Wars top 5
The Force Awakens - 585M
The Last Jedi - 417M
Rise of Skywalker - 320M
The Phantom Menace - 270M
Rogue One - 265M

Infinity War really underperformed in Italy.
Yeah I remember that my expectation was €20 million, and the 5 days opening of 9 million only confirmed my idea
Unfortunately the film ended with a lower total than expected also due to a sun that breaks the stones and the record heat of the period, a climate that certainly doesn't encourage going to the cinema...

From the idea of @charlieJatinder
MCU in Italy
Phase I (2008-2012)
Iron Man - €7M
The Incredible Hulk - €4M
Iron Man 2 - €8.2M
Thor - €7.5M
Captain America: The First Avengers - €6.2M
The Avengers - €18M
Phase II (2013-2015)
Iron Man 3 - €16.1M
Thor: The Dark World - €8.4M
Captain America: The Winter Soldier - €7.1M
Guardians of the Galaxy - €5.6M
Avengers: Age of Ultron - €16.6M
Ant-Man - €4.7M
Phase III (2016-2019)
Captain America: Civil War - €11.3M
Doctor Strange - €7.3M
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 - €7.1M
Spider-man: Homecoming - €8.6M
Thor: Ragnarok - €8.8M
Black Panther - €7.2M
Avengers: Infinity War - €18.8M
Ant-Man and the Wasp - €4.9M
Captain Marvel - €10.2M
Avengers: Endgame - €30.3M
Spider-man: Far From Home - €11.8M
Phase IV (2021-)
Black Widow - €4.8M
Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings - €3.8M
Eternals - €8.4M
Spider-man: No Way Home - €24.6M
In particular we can see that in the first two phases almost all the films (apart from Guardians of the Galaxy) have grossed more in Italy than in Spain, with the Iron Man movies standing out for the greatest difference. In the following phases however the two markets are more or less on par, with all 3 Spider Man films earning more in Spain

Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings - €5,683,493
Eternals - €7,357,371
Spider-man: No Way Home - €27,250,000 expected
Hmm. This is weird. Spain gotta be among rare market where all Phase 1 sequels dropped from previous film. Spider-man seems like strongest standalone franchise followed by Thor which had strong first entry but then two okayish next ones. Let's see if Love and Thunder can go over €15M. Eternals did pretty ok.
NWH doing crazy good.
Yeah I was surprised by Iron Man 3 and Winter Soldier grossing so little, and I was expecting more for Civil War too
Now that you have given me a good idea I'll make a similar list on the Italy thread as well ; )

Just make it entire Europe no? Including Russia.
Yeah my initial idea was to also include also Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and Serbia but then I realized that Russia has become a big market only in more recent years with Hollywood films often reaching 30 or 40 million dollars, while only 15/20 years ago there were important movies grossing like 5/10M or less (or there was missing data)
So I had the idea of making a thread only for the European Union, since the countries that are part of it have fairly close relationships and a certain unity, so why not 🤷♂️

I guess NWH could add $10M-$15M in Netherlands and $10M ? $15M ? $20M ? in the Philippines so to this total of $1812M we can perhaps add another $20M-$35M ? Which would give $1832M-$1847M, it will be really very tight to exceed 1st run of Titanic ($1843M) but it is still possible. This and $1850M will be the last milestones that NWH may or may not reach ... whatever amazing run !
Thanks @charlie Jatinder for your datas
Well I really hope that its Japanese gross will pass the Indian one, but at the moment it isn't doing very well...

For those that didn’t notice, we passed Infinity War WW-C. That’s probably the last worldwide milestone (vs another film) we will be able to hit, unless it can leg out past Titanic 1st Run WW.
Another one (I'm really creative, I know) could be to gross 1B more than No Time to Die, so about $1.78B

MCU in Spain (it is in Spanish but I think it is understandable)
A list with only Mcu films is a bit "unsatisfying", does we have something that includes also DC movies + the Marvel ones that aren't Mcu?

Ok now it's getting quite ridiculous, BoxOfficeMojo has finally updated the total in the US (first time since December 12th) and it has increased by about 320k dollars, while the WW total has instead remained at 774.1M like more than a month and a half ago...

I think measuring in Euro will be nicer. Since you have already compiled list in USD, it won't be that much trouble, just convert USD to EUR with that time exchange rate
This is a good idea, but you should do separate counts for the UK and their pounds, plus all other countries with different currencies like Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Poland to name the most important. So let's say I leave this honor to you ; )
