  1. Ok guys it's time to talk about "C'è Ancora Domani" by Paola Cortellesi, the film opened with 1.6M euros, and between good reviews and her promotion it then increased by 110% in its second week and by another 30% in the third one

After three weeks it's already at 13M euros and it's the highest grossing Italian movie of the past 3.5 years, and excluding Checco Zalone movies it should became the highest grossing of the past 11 years

excluding china and korea from both how does the os number look like vs your name?

The difference in the overseas gross between Suzume and Weathering With You is really impressive, and if my calculations are correct it should beat the overseas gross of Your Name and Spirited Away even excluding China and South Korea

Then obviously it's mostly because it had a better distribution thanks to Shinkai's increased fame and a better consideration towards anime movies in general

  3. Out of curiosity, is there any little chance that the ending of Attack on Titan will also be showed in theaters maybe in a few months, taking advantage of the fact that many fans will certainly want to watch it on the big screen sooner or later?

Then I don't know if there are similar examples in the past but how many anime as famous and appreciated as Aot ended with an episode lasting an hour and a half? It would practically be the perfect opportunity

    Overseas / global

This weekend, Moon declined -36% in overseas holdover markets, substantially milder than its -61% domestic drop.

Moon has now earned $47.4M overseas and $88.0M globally, or 54% overseas.

Top five market totals to date are:

    1. U.K. $6.8M
    2. France: $5.3M
    3. Germany: $3.6M
    4. Spain: $2.9M
    5. Australia: $2.7M

Nice that the overseas gross already surpassed the domestic gross

  5. The trashy film by Me Contro Te opened with 1.9M and it should finish at 4M, while Killers of the Flower Moon instead opened at 1.7M and maybe it could reach 5M

Then the Taylor Swift movie still hasn't reached 1M

And for other titles we have Barbie and Oppenheimer which are going to end with 32.1M and 27.8M, much closer than what I initially expected

I see. I am really "out" when it comes to what's popular as far as music and especially italian music goes 😛

My brother listens to a lot of italian rap stuff. all sounds like complete garbage to me, makes me feel like a "boomer" who doesn't get the kids and I'm 24:hahaha:

Ah don't worry Italian rap is indeed generally trash, and no matter how much some of its exponents get inflated the most famous artists remain the various singers such as Mengoni, Annalisa, Maneskin etc

Not exactly Michael Jackson sure, but still better than the various rappers

    Now that I notice, this didn't even get #1 on admits - exorcist's 2nd friday did 😅

This really didn't catch on at all here.

It's not a surprise, Italy is certainly not her market

In the 2014-2017 period in USA she was already among the most famous singers, here instead she wasn't even in the top 10 just taking the American ones. And even after her recent success with the 8 albums in 4 years + the tour she still remains behind many other Italian and foreign artists

This weekend, Haunting fell -41% in overseas holdover markets, steeper than its -25% domestic drop.

Haunting has earned $67.0M overseas and $102.7M globally, or 65% from overseas.

For comparison, Nile finished with $91.6M overseas and $137.3M globally, or 66% from overseas.

Haunting’s top five overseas market totals are:

    1. U.K.: $10.1M

    3. China: $5.8M
    4. France: $5.0M
    5. Spain: $4.1M

The film has some psychological impact among viewers in Test Screenings. So far, 16 were conducted, all went unsuccessful. Though it must be the noted that there weren't any comments regarding the film being demonstration of American Military Power (which was the original disagreement earlier in June)

Ops I already answered to your other comment on the Japan page, in that case I understand not releasing it

It's official. Oppenheimer won't be screened in Japan.

    Reason -

    1. IMAX Japan says that they aren't confident enough to ensure the safety and security of audiences.

    2. During #Barbenheimer Constroversy, Universal-Warner Bros opened a back channel door. I haven't received the full talk but WB said that releasing Oppenheimer is "fatal"

    3. Confirming pt. 1, IMAX Schedule are fully booked for the year. (Until March 2024)

    4. With IMAX Japan pulling back, Universal no more wanted to continue talks regarding the possible theatrical window.

    5. There are currently spectations and rumours about possibly switching into BD/DVD release (which can be confirmed only after American Release)

Ah that's a pity, could it be because they listened a bit too much to those who complained on the web some time ago?

After all it's one of the best films of the year and never shows Japan directly, and obviusly also depitcs some American politicians of the time in a bad light, so I think some people would have liked it if released...
