haha,Acturally I'm really envy that UK has too many cutlure productions which are popular in the whole world,China only have Bruce Lee,or the Great Wall,but I believe we will doing better on culture output in the future!

They are both household name for young generation in China,but I think Beckham is more famous than Ronaldo for old generation,maybe 60+ years old people know more about David Beckham This question is just like "Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan,who is more famous in UK",then I guess Bruce lee win the old generation and Jackie chan win the young generation

Actually ,we don't know too much about British culture,even the Beatles is not famous here in China（I love Beatles but most of Chinese never heard of them） But we do know about 007,Harry Potter,David Beckham,Mr.Bean,Sherlock Holmes,London,they are not only famous among young generation ,even old people know them,too.They are really famous,and they are household name for Chinese,but except them, we don't really know and care much about UK culture

I think we shouldn't only count recent years movie,Bond's popualrity has been widespread all over the world for 60 years ,and there is no doubt that Bond and "007" has already become the culture symbol of UK. As a Chinese,I'd say that 99% of Chinese people have heard of “007”,the series is really famous and well-known in China,almost everybody know it. I don't know other country,but if you come to China,ask people"What's the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of Britain?" they must say "Oh,I think is 007/Harry Potter/David Beckham/Football/London/Sherlock Holmes/Queen Elizabeth 2/Big Ben" just like when we mention America we will think about Superman,Michael jackson,New York ,Disney,coca-cola，Hollywood...... I think that is what "true popularity"means
