  1. The Box Office/Movie market in the Middle East has always been very small compared to the rest of the world and just recently have SA and UAE started to flourish. I only know 1 thing and that is, Sam Raimi/Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies have always been famous here more than the MCU itself. MCU Spider-Man movies and/or TASM might have grossed more before the release of NWH (I haven't checked TASM) but in the Middle East Tobey Maguire has always been THE Spider-Man for many people. To this day, If you go to the kids markets/sections in stores where I live, the Spider-Man Merch is not from the MCU but Tobey Maguire. I mentioned in the Middle East thread before NWH released that I think it would do great here. And I was correct. Now I'm not contributing the success of NWH in the ME solely on the return of his Spider-Man, but it definitely played the biggest part of the movie's success.
  2. https://www.express.co.uk/entertainment/films/1550314/avatar-2-james-cameron-release-date-disney-plus "Despite how much time and effort Cameron is putting into Avatar 2, he did confess he has some fears about the reception of the film. He revealed: "The big issue is: are we going to make any damn money? Big, expensive films have got to make a lot of money. We're in a new world post-COVID, post-streaming. Maybe those [box office] numbers will never be seen again. Who knows? It's all a big roll of the dice."
  3. I honestly have no idea if some of these predictions are an ongoing inside joke or people actually think AV2 is doing those numbers. I'll just sit on the sidelines for this one and watch it's run.
  4. https://deadline.com/2021/12/spider-man-no-way-home-christmas-box-office-matrix-resurrections-sing-2-1234901560/ Sony/Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home ends the week with $385.8M, the third best first week at the domestic box office of all-time after Avengers: Endgame ($473.9M) and Star Wars: Force Awakens ($390.8M). Sony reports that the film will become the first $1 billion grossing movie at the global box office of the pandemic tom’w. Nancy will have more soon. Spidey is pacing 1% behind the running domestic total of Force Awakens, however, it remains to be seen whether the Jon Watts-directed MCU title can keep up with the Lucasfilm sequel, that movie hitting $571.4M on its 11th day of release (Monday). Still, should No Way Home fall short of that figure, it’s like complaining about how far Mike Trout hit two homeruns.
  5. Man...Korea could've been so much more. Other countries too of course but especially Korea.
