I liked Afterlife, but that seemed like a one and done. I think it would have been a bigger hit if there were no pandemic, and would have outgrossed the 2016 film by a lot more. But that had the benefit of being written and directed by Jason Reitman.
There's nothing else to do with this franchise! We're all moving on from the 80s.
They also had a pretty good marketing bit at the Oscar's where they showed off Gosling's and Blunt's chemistry. While it didn't go viral on TikTok, it made a little bit of a dent there
Something I find funny is that Shyamalan had a conversation with Nolan that was part of the reason that convinced Nolan to choose Universal, and then he jumped ship over to WB.
