With movies like The Flash bombing and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny tracking very low, I think we are seeing the decline of 80s nostalgia. 90s and 2000s/ nostalgia are the big things currently.
Like just go on social media and you will hardly seen any 80s nostalgia anymore. It's mostly 90s and 2000s (heck I even see more early 2010s nostalgia than 80s).
Honestly I think maybe one reason why presales are underperforming is because with a lot of the recent Marvel films being underwhelming, it's possible people are now less willing to get their tickets super early for MCU films and are now waiting for the reviews to see if it's worth it.
So why is South Korea falling off the MCU harder than the U.S? China I can get due to things like Simu Liu and Chloe Zhao but what is causing the MCU to die off so fast in SK compared to the U.S?
So earlier I discussed if Vol. 3 could make a billion. I want to now ask do you think it would have made a billion in an alternate timeline where James Gunn never got fired and covid never happened so it releases in May 2020 like it was supposed to?
