  1. I think this kind of overwhelming positive reception automatically increases peoples hype for Superman (at least to more hardcore superhero fans). This is a huge win for both Marvel and DC IMO.
  2. “Fast X” Greater Salvador Region tracking: T-12 SHOWINGS TOTAL SEATS SEATS SOLD PCT. SOLD 52 13355 93 0.70% SEATS SOLD TODAY 93 So... quite a few shows more than what Guardians had at T-07, but probably won't match tickets solds at the same time. It seems a solid start though and Fast&Furious is very strong here in Brazil.
  3. I am going to post Fast X first day sales later tonight, but I can already say that it has more showings than GOTG3 had in T-7.
  4. Do you not understand? You were talking about the critics score and not audience. Black Adam has a 88% RT audience score and Shazam! has a 82% and yet they were both included in your list. The strange part is that Eternals and Ant-Man 3 were not included when those are rotten by critics and have similar to worse audience score than Black Adam and Shazam.
  5. Someone already did that, but it's filled with reasonable people saying it's a lowball. No fun 😔
  6. Just imagine Reddit if this is true lmao. I don't think it is though 😔
  7. With a 318M domestic the worldwide would be closer to 700M than 750M.
  8. “Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3” Greater Salvador Region tracking: T-00 SHOWINGS TOTAL SEATS SEATS SOLD PCT. SOLD 42 10529 1317 12.51% SEATS SOLD TODAY 315 This is the number of tickets sold between last counting yesterday and right now, which is 1 hr before the first showings begin. It lost one showing today, but the increase seems fine. Let's hope for great walkups during the this opening weekend now. Edit: Pct. Sold fixed
  9. Is it possible that releasing reviews earlier did not make that much difference at the end of the day and only switched the bump it would have in sales anyway closer to release a few days earlier? It was apparently having a consistent acceleration, but maybe it just won't have the final push it would if reviews were released latter.
  10. It's not the DC cinematic brand, but the own characters brand which are at the end of the day DC brand. People don't saw Joker because they trusted DC brand in movies like people do (or did?) with the MCU, but because it was a very good story about a hugely popular and iconic character from DC's biggest franchise that is Batman. The brand is most definitely a factor here. The Batman also did very good despite being an unfriedly movie for GA with it's very somber and dark tone, slower pace, thriller aspects, bad reception of previous iteration and other factors.
  11. I honestly don't see it beating Love and Thunder in any scenario: opening weekend, domestic and worldwide. Domestic total is the only one remotely possible IMO, but I highly doubt this is doing close to 3x legs.
  12. Heavily disagree here. Of course the incredible word of mouth helped it a lot, but if you made the exact same movie that instead of being named "Joker" and having Gotham, Batman as a child appearance and all that Batman mythos stuff, it was named "Joaquin" and was taken place in Los Angeles it would not have done even half of that. Good luck opening a drama/thriller character study movie about a guy's psychology to 96M domestic and 155M worldwide.
  13. I think he is right in the sense that DC is nowhere near as consistent as the MCU, but it definitely always had the potential to go as high as the MCU aside from all the Avengers stuff, especially Batman related movies.
  14. I really liked it the format. I really appreaciate your analysis M37, it's very cool to see someone so knowledgeable and passionate at something.
  15. “Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3” Greater Salvador Region tracking: T-01 SHOWINGS TOTAL SEATS SEATS SOLD PCT. SOLD 43 10966 1002 9.14% SEATS SOLD TODAY 249 Another really good day. Two more showings were added today, maybe they are realizing the increase and the potential? Might be the case. Obs: I will give a final update just before shows start tomorrow to see how it finishes.
  16. What do you guys expect to be the legs on this given a solid audience reception? I think probably around Wakanda Forever...
  17. I wonder if is possible for Mario to beat Minions to become the highest grossing animation ever. What do you think?
  18. @ThatWaluigiDude Do you know the average pre-sales cycle of Sony movies over here?
  19. Waluigi will probably post the long weekend numbers later today. But if I remember well, Brazil was estimated to be at about 20.6M and Italy 19.6M. It was also a holiday over here
  20. Really appreaciate it, Keyser. You are one of the many guys (and girls too ofc) that I have a lot of respect for over here and all the fantastic job all of you do in the domestic tracking thread and all the other threads like Japan, China, Korea and etc. is all really helpful, educative and fascinating for me and certainly for others too. I definitely pretend to track all of those movies and to continue to provide numbers over here, it's a bit wearing but at the end of the day is a very pleasant hobby that I really like. Of course it depends on my availability, as many of you might think life is definitely not easy here in Brazil and there are more important things that demand our time and attention, but my intention is to keep going.
  21. That is something I said here a couple of times, it just seems that Mexico box office is doing absolutely great since last year. It's probably the biggest performer for Hollywood movies right now in relative terms.
  22. Appreciate it I decided to begin tracking because Brazil is one of the few big markets that did not had tracking at all and Waluigi was doing all the heavy lifting over here alone for a long time. I hope this increases the interactivity in this thread and provides a better glance of what a movie is headed for over here.
