Wait how does it know what colour to make things and what detail to include?
Lol I feel bad for parents sometimes, I couldn’t watch something like this.
Yeh from accounts I follow I’d say mixed to poor without seeking them out.
Empire, discussing film, Guardian, Bloody Disgusting all negative. Deadline, Variety and Screen Daily looked like they leaned positive though.
Great holds again, even for Imaginary.
Glad Wicked Little Letters has found an audience, biggest post pandemic British comedy. Excellent totals for Dune 2, Migration and Bob Marley. £264k is actually more than I would’ve expected for Drive Away Dolls considering zero promo.
Hoping Immaculate does well next weekend. It deserves to.
Zone of Interest now in the top 10 all time for non-English language films.
This actually isn’t too bad, as It Lives Inside is also from Neon. These previews could suggest more than double their previous horror openings (Infinity Pool).
Glad you thought it was good. I seen it on Saturday and got a kick out of those upsetting things lol. So gnarly.
It’s a shame Neon are so small though, because Immaculate, Cuckoo and Longlegs all are/look extremely interesting. But the marketing power just isn’t available to them.
100%. But I have a carefully selected follow list so I only get to see this good stuff.
This film is like catnip to the Letterboxd/A24 crowd. They’re loud online but don’t always show up.
That’s a great hold for Imaginary -44% in second weekend.
Great for Dune and Panda. Not great for Arthur the King, but to be fair I didn’t know about it until a few weeks ago. These dog movies used to do high teens easily though.
Sad for Love Lies Bleeding. From my twitter timeline you’d think it was a film the whole of America was seeing 😂😂
Oooh it’s good. Really good.
Not sure how the ending will go down with mainstream American audiences, but I loved it. Makes full use of its 18 rating.
It’s actually more Midsommar and Ready or Not than The Nun, which I really appreciated. No spoilers.
Ah that makes more sense then.
I thought with SNL, SXSW, Fallon, premieres etc that Neon were going harder than usual. Whoever is releasing it in the UK is doing a better job but maybe it’s social media mostly.
