  1. Why don't they just do a straight King Arthur movie? Fantasy, big budget, just hit all the classic tropes but with awesome CGI. It's a good enough story on its own to be a great movie with the right dialogue and good acting.
  2. Break free from Lindsey, I am destroying Redreine

  3. Does anyone else want there to be an unconventional villain for this film? Like, instead of an evil AI, or a rogue terrorist or something, why not some nihilistic teenage hacker? For bonus points, make it a girl. Don't have them ham it up, just have them give a really scary, detached kind of performance, like someone who's completely broken from reality and wants everyone to die. And Gerard Butler's character has to somehow talk her down. With the right villain this could actually be a good movie. Like not just popcorn fun good, but legitimately 70s on Rotten Tomatoes good.
  4. So here's an interesting question: how much would Split have made if it was released in 2004, back when M. Night Shyamalan could do no wrong? Let's say Split comes out on July 30, 2004, instead of The Village. The plot of the film is exactly the same, though the cast is changed (perhaps Adrien Brody as the kidnapper and Bryce Dallas Howard, Emmy Rossum, and Haylie Duff as the three girls). The critical reception is EXACTLY the same (mid 70s on RT). What would the film's OW and final domestic tally have been? Would it have done better than The Village did? Better than Signs?
  5. I was rooting for Storks because Katie Crown had a major role in it, and this is probably the first time that a career voice actress (as opposed to a celebrity) has gotten such a big role in a major theatrical animated film since I think Cree Summer in Atlantis in 2001. Storks underperforming means we're going back to 100% celebrities in these movies, and no chance of seeing, say, Grey Griffin as a Disney Princess ever
  6. Is this the best year for animated movies ever? There have been better individual films than the one that's going to win this year, but I don't think there's ever been a year like this with so many really great animated films.
