I´m surprised that the premiere is so late. Marvel premieres is usually about 2-weeks before good or bad. The only exceptions are those spoiler heavy filled movies but I don´t really think this movie falls under that category.

The world carpet premiere was said to be 13th February a couple of months ago. Have tried to find a update on that but nothing. If true then reactions will be very late compared Wakanda Forever and Thor.

Well shit just got interesting. Don´t know how much WF or Ant-Man will do but Marvel movies entering China again is something I never thought would happen. Not just one, but two movies aswell.

While unlikely, Zoe Zaldana could star in 9 2B movies. Won´t happen as I don´t think Kang Dynasti or Secret Wars will get that but still wild to think about. I have no doubt in my mind seeing the monster legs on Avatar that all five movies will be 2B+

The Marvel fans are ruthless but I´m still abit concerned if that high interest in the fandom can translate into the GA. Still thinking over 100M 4-day not 3-day.

Someone on the box office forum on Reddit posted a unconfirmed social post that Black Panther will release 7.Feb and Ant-Man 3 Feb 17th. Any merit to this? Seems very fake but given there´s been some talk about Ant-Man getting a release I thought would ask.

Barbie is way overpredicted. Legit seen people think it will do 600M+. Also think Ant-Man 3 is overpredicted by some but that´s an MCU movie so it at least have some merit. Barbie hype is the definition of echo chamber. Will do 350M at most.

Ah that makes sense then. I would be very surprised if Ant-Man get Dominion previews range. Maybe I´m to pessimistic on this one but I feel like this will be closer to Ant-Man and The Wasp

It´s just adding some minor stuff to the opening scene. It´s like 30 seconds. All practical. Pretty standard for MCU

Thor and MoM has the same cinemascore aswell but every other metric tells that MoM was better than LaT. Cinemascore is great but it´s not everything. It only polls first day audiences and is a great metric for legs. That said there is no denying that MCU with three B cinemascores the audiences aren´t happy lately.

Wait what? Where has this come from? You heard something? IF so that´s massive. I don´t really expect the movie to do well given the covid situation but Marvel getting a release would be massive for the brand in the future if China is willing to play a Marvel movie again.

Don´t underestimate Saturday bump for Avatar.

It´s still an Ant-Man movie. A franchise that hasn´t managed to crack 500M without China. The movie might be big in terms for the universe but the box office won´t explode. 550-600M would be great imo. Saying this movie should be an easy 100M 3-day when the last one got 75M in prime MCU only is very optimistic. The GA doesn´t know Kang. Kang being in there and the movie being good isn´t going to make this suddenly a 700-800M hit. I just don´t see it. It being compared to Civil War is about the effect it has on the universe going forward. People can talk about the D+ show as reason for fatigue and all that but most of the GA don´t watch those shows. Those have a much smaller fan driven audience. Moon Knight was still airing when MoM came out and the world was insanely hyped for it. A movie that got to 940M despite most not liking it. Moon Knight was the 6th MCU show in 1,5 years. So I disagree about that it´s because of the D+ shows that we have seen this downward trend. I would argue that the movies themselves have done more harm. MoM and Thor had bad WOM. That´s what killed them. Imagine if those movies had normal MCU WOM. MoM is prob over 1B and Love and Thunder is prob 825M without China. The MCU has always done well at the box office because of the quality of the movies. The audiences have liked them very much. WOM that says go watch this movie and you will have a great time. That hasn´t been there this year. Even WF is a very somber movie that hasn´t the usual oh what a great fun time at the cinema even thought it was in general well received. This movie is not the movie to judge the MCU as a whole on. If WF forever gets to 800M then this one should pop the champagne at 550M+. Especially in the streaming era: Ant-Man movie smells wait for streaming. I still think 85 ish would be great for the 3-day.

WF was never ever going to match it´s predecessor in awards and box office. But overall I think it´s done very well for itself. Especially considering all the problems that this movie has faced, first and foremost the loss of Chadwick. I also think this is a movie that´s going to age very well. 840M box office without China is respectable. Even thought it´s a big drop from the first one. It should get 1-3 Academy Awards noms aswell. Happy for Coogler and the team. PGA nom is awesome

550M+ would make me happy. I doubt it´s going higher.
