I think Ant-Man being in Feb is smart by Disney. Get a 4-day weekend and very little competition. Ant-Man is the weakest franchise in the MCU box office wise excluding the new ones from Phase 4. It won´t steamrolled the competition in March. Shazam seems honestly f´ed in March.

Assuming this movie actually does deliver cause you never know. I´m thinking 90+ 3-day and 100+ 4-day. It looks great but its still an Ant-Man movie so some reservations here.

This trailer make it clear that this isn´t another Average Ant-Man movie like the previous one. Hope it delivers because it looks good.

I think Ant-Man will benefit of coming off Wakanda Forever and not having a D+ show in betweeen. I don´r really count the holiday special given those two doesn´t really get any viewership or attention like the shows does over a longer time. They need to nail this trailer tho because the hype atm seems very muted. Need that second trailer to pop.

I respectfully disagree. MoM getting to 940M without China and Russia is not a underperformance. Could it have done more? Yes but sometimes movies don´t live up to the hype. It´s still made almost 250M more than the first one that had China. Love and Thunder made more than Ragnarok when you factor in no China and Russia. The only movie that had a sizeable drop was Wakanda Forever, which was also expected but granted it was bigger then I thought it would be. The MCU is fine. Ant-Man will do fine, GotG vol 3 will do fine. Same with The Marvels. I feel like there´s an expectation for MCU movies to always overperform like they did in Phase 3. Thing were always going to go down after Endgame to some degree. What we are seeing now in my opinion is the MCU stabilizing after the infinity saga. Also NWH is a MCU movie. To not give the MCU credit for that when the MCU people was making the decisions with Sony behind the scenes about bringing does characters back is unfair. Also about the article there´s no lesson for Hollywood to take here about Avatar´s success. Nobody can even get close to replicate what Cameron does. There is a reason he has 3 2B+ movies. Nobody does it like him. There´s nothing to learn because no one can do blockbuster like Cameron. He knows what gets butts in the seats. Blockbuster king

I´m a bit worried about the overseas gross on this one. Ant-Man and The Wasp got 121M from China, which this one won´t have. Also I can´t imagine it getting anything close to the 40M Ant-Man and The Wasp got from South-Korea. Can this go sub 500M? Overseas gross have been going down for every MCU movie now since MoM. I´m hoping for 300M from DOM and Overseas for 600M

D+ release is Jan 20th according to MCU direct and Hollywood Handle. MCU direct usually is right the few times they have news like this. If true I´m sad. Was hoping for Feb. Does this stop it for going past TDKR at 448M? Saw someone mention that they thought this was good because then everyone can get caught up with Phase 4 and given the general good reception to it will help the buzz for Ant-Man? Anyone agreeing with that?

Excellent for Avatar. Meh for Orange Panther but prob Deadline being Deadline. Great for WF aswell.

I feel like Deadpool 3 can become a big event aswell.
