  1. I hadn't even heard of that movie until, like, 3 days ago. No advertising that reached me at all.
  2. I think the biggest reason Kung Fu Panda 2 and How to Train Your Dragon 2 dipped and underperformed domestically was they were much darker than the first ones. They were both strong movies, but not exactly the free wheeling fun of the originals. I mean, a big part of the story in Kung Fu Panda 2 is the genocide of pandas.
  3. I just recently rewatched the series, and boy are 3 and 4 a drag. Absolutely should have been one movie, about 2 hours 30-45 minutes. There was greatness in them, but stretched further than a Stretch Armstrong.
  4. Any international numbers for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes?
  5. She's been around for 17 years now. This comes off as you thinking she's some flash in the pan, which is clearly not the case.
  6. This seems like a false narrative you're creating and I don't know why. Who is legitimately undermining The Dark Knight's box office run? It's not an insult to say it wasn't a phenomenon overseas. It was only the 2nd biggest movie internationally of 2008. Was Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull a phenomenon? The Dark Knight barely made more money overseas than Mamma Mia!, Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, Hancock, and Quantum of Solace. Were they phenomenons? It had a great number, but not some once in a lifetime achievement. Nothing to be puffing your chest about. The domestic run though? Legendary.
  7. Doubtful considering it was nominated everywhere else and had Best Director and Best Editing nominations.
  8. Cameron is simply a genius. The action scenes in Avatar and Avatar: The Way of Water are so far superior and more engaging than anything that Marvel, DC, Jurassic World, Fast, or any other blockbuster franchise puts out. I re-watched Titanic over the weekend and it's unreal how grandiose and ginormous that movie feels. Even 26 years later with movies spanning the universe, this still feels like the biggest movie ever.
