LMAO this is literally the same thing that happened with Deadpool, some negative reactions and suddenly it´s all over. It's a very small sample size of reactions. This is making 1B+ and then some.
I applaud your optimism. Good luck with your 1B+. But, it is obvious to me that Todd has shitted the bed this time. My guess? RT score: 40-50 , WW box office : 700m (should be even lower).

Upon knowing the negative reactions......
If you are still in the 1 billion club and have not run out there like a rat sneaking off the sinking ship, I am worried about your sense of urgency.

"Lauren Pagone, an extra on the set of Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis” describes the “shock” she felt after the director kissed her during the filming of a scene: “I was in shock. I didn’t expect him to kiss and hug me like that. I was caught off guard. And I can tell you he came around a couple times.”
Francis Ford Coppola, he is screwed. He just lost all his LA privileges. I still wonder why the media hasn't roasted his ass yet.

Surprised (and amused) at how angry some of those reactions are but I’d still be shocked if the RT is bad. Expecting a “its reach is occasionally beyond its grasp but DP3 is always irreverent fun!!” etc etc.
Abstractly, I wonder if deadpool no longer being an underdog but instead leading the most hyped film of the year has altered the perception of the property for some. Dude’s not just making fun of the machine anymore, he is the machine.
It is like a young, ambitious politician who once thought about changing the world ended up becoming the establishment he once despised.

I had a blast watching this one. Also the marketing did a great job hiding like practically everything in the trailers.
Most of the jokes were great, had the audience rolling. I'm also thankful it feels like a Deadpool movie still despite the obvious changes and MCU
The main storyline itself wasn't as good as the other two movies IMO but with the humor landing not sure I really noticed. A lot of references and love for Fox. If you're feeling tired of MCU movies, I think you can make an exception for this one.
The other two previous movies don't have much story to begin with (just pure jokes, action scenes). If it is even worse story-wise...well...

Judging from the early reactions, it seems that my 2 billion WW club is dead on arrival. LOL. So disappointing, man. No wonder they push the review embargo to such a late date. Kevin Feige, I trusted you to deliver, man. What the heck?

They don’t really need to win the top prize again
Gaga or Joaquin can win the Volpi cup if it’s good as some people said
Todd can also win director if no one wins the acting prizes
I am sorry to disappoint you. They are not winning anything this time. It is rare for Venice Film festival to give out awards to a sequel. Let alone a superhero movie.

I have not seen a Mission Impossible movie since MI 2. If this is the disastrous mess I keep hearing I will have to jump back in.

This forum is quite left leaning so obviously any backlash against the rap music must be racism.
"any backlash against the rap music must be racism." You have to enlighten me on this part.

This hysteria is baffling. Just outrage for the sake of outrage and i am not discounting right wingers being mad also.
Honestly the F1 teaser had a more annoying song inclusion.
I just want to ask what it has to do with right wingers.

They'll drop it around Venice premiere in August since they pretty much mimic the original's marketing.
But they won't win the Golden Lion award again in the Venice film festival. But I guess they already accept this cruel reality.

I live in a very conservative area. Only one of us ever talks about Kanye, and he is a very liberal conservative (big fan of Obama). He never talked about him after the interview.
All of us who care about movies have accepted that they are made by hardcore liberals years ago. As long as they are not Disney we are fine with them.
All the big stars are liberal. Of course most Hollywood movies will be liberal. What do people expect ? LOL

No one expects this to be as good as or even better than the first film. As long as it is epic, full of heart, it is already fine by most people.

Well, after the peacock trailer I see pleny of invidiious comparasions with "Ben Hur" coming. Serrioulsy, I would not want to directly compete ith the race in Ben Hur, which is still one of the most incredible action scenes ever filmed.
Trailer is , well, just ok. Not nough to fire up people who are not already fired up.
At first, I thought you were talking about the comparisons with the 2016 version of "Ben Hur".

By the way, has it been said whether they’ll sing original songs for this movie, or is it just going to be licensed music?
I think it is a mixture of both.

Gaga is easily more talented than Taylor
Not that I disagree with your statement. But Taylor is way more popular now. If you think from the point of view of Box Office, she is a better choice.
By the way Taylor is more sexually appealing. And she definitely got acting chops for the role as shown in the following video.
The whole music video is like Harley breaking out from the Arkham Asylum. She can definitely act CRAZY if need be.- 2

Joker 2 casting director talking about Lady Gaga's performance.
I'm so excited. Less than 3 months to go!
No disrespect to Lady Gaga, but I think they should have picked Taylor Swift over her for this role.

I love the enthusiasm but I just doubt that this movie will have the thrust overseas to get to that mark. Let's say it gets to $700M domestic, it would still need $1.3B overseas. Yeah, no way.
You should not count out China. The audience there are hungry for a quality Marvel movie for a long time. I know the Hollywood movies do not do well there recently. But it is due to the quality. If you give them the REAL deal, they will eat it up.

The fact that they are willing to show you 40 minutes of footage means they know they got a FREAKING giant hit. This shit is fire!
If you are still not in the WW 2 billion club, you are surely missing out.Who is in the club with me? Let's freaking go !

Why am I always getting blue-balled ? Just release the damn trailer already ! There is so much hype and I cannot take it all in.

Imagine telling Kevin Costner his project would have the same fate as the knockoff Hunger Games.
His hubris got the best of him.

Damn ! I just realized it also got a sub-40 RT score. This shit is absolutely going down in flames. They are filming chapter 3. It is way too late for it to be cancelled. I doubt if chapter 4 will go on as planned. If this bombs harder than expected, they might have to turn chapter 3 and 4 into a single movie and call it a day. What a total disaster!
-
It just got a B– on CinemaScore. This shit is gonna bomb real hard. Feel bad for Kevin Costner. But I still gotta say he should have seen it coming. Ain't it?

Then they have some serious delusions about this movie not being a stinker.
