  1. So 2013 will pass 2009 for most 100m grossing films. Anchorman makes 32 to tie it, and American Hustle is bound to get there, especially with an Oscar bump. WOWS possibly 100m grosser as well -- depends on what WOM does and Oscar bump. Not the accomplishment it once could be given inflation/3D but as I don't want to open that box, let's just say it's been a pretty stellar year at the box office. 13 films over 200m once The Hobbit 2 passes in a few days. Wow!
  2. Fair enough, but I'd still say Thor and especially CF won't have any impact on Gravity's ability to surpass DM2. It will already be clear one way or the other if it's going to by then IMO. Guess we'll have to see. I can't see it getting to 300m period so kind of feels like a moot point
  3. What? Thor doesn't open for 3 weeks and CF is even further off. There will be no impact on Gravity by then. It will have made a majority of its money.
  4. Haha, I remember "firedeep" saying RotG was locked for 200m because Hotel Transylvania opened strong. Haha, such a fail.
  5. "Locked" already means certain. It means unanimous/undisputed/undeniable etc. It's not a term that should be thrown around so casually. I don't see how HT breaking out means RotG is locked for 200m.
  6. So because one animated film breaks out, RotG is suddenly locked for 200m? If you feel like saying it's got a shot, okay, but locked? No way.
  7. I don't see how they can remake this with an American cast. It's pointless. Only like eight people in the world can do the fighting choreography found in the original and, guess what, they were all in the original.
  8. The Campaign maybe, but I don't know how anyone can think Hope Springs can possibly get close.
