Exactly. It has already been done and Dredd was decent. There is no need for this remake but if they had hired Scott Adkins I would have at least given it a raised eyebrow.

TF movies are what I call 'junk movies'. Just like 'junk food' they are made to satisfy the basic of urges and nothing more. I would not mind the TF movies if they were not made with such cynical-ism. Women are dergraded to tits and ass, explosions happen with no sense of reasoning and the wafer-thin plot is barely executed with coherence.
It's just nice when a big budget movie tries to not treat the audience like brain dead idiots. Hence the praise for Apes.

so now the other studios are crying because they claim it was less than what paramount said it was. Shame on the other studios. Every single one of them has lied about their numbers at one point or another. Go cry me a f****** River. This is awesome and I love it. As I mentioned in the estimates thread I asked Mario Kassar about this exact thing on Facebook and he replied to me that all studios fudge their numbers within a couple of million and it happens all the time and it's really nothing to worry about. So if Mario Kassar super producer says that the rest of the studios should just shut the f*** up.
We enjoy following box office trends and when one studio goes out of its way to blatantly lie it makes it less fun to follow.

So my expectations for childhood franchises to get adapted by hollywood
Thundercats - 90% - It was pretty big
He-Man - 100% - Its pretty much a no-brainer
The Mysterious City of Gold - 60% - It wasn't huge but it could be a property with a lot of potential
Inspector Gadget - 70% - Even that awful adaption in the 90's made $100M
MASK - 60% - Only because you can make a TF clone from it
Visionaires - 40% - You could make something decent from the plot outline
Centurions - 50% - Basically it would be Iron Man with 3 guys instead of one
Captain Planet - 80% - It was every bit as popular as TMNT at one point
