  1. That 5 day number was the bomb of that era. Outside Batman, few movies opened that huge and nowadays that range is considered a failure for a movie like IDR. Disappointments nowadays opened in the 20s range. Robin Hood with its incredible leg went on to gross $160M+. NYSM2, Alice 2, Warcraft, Allegiant, Neighbours 2 could barely manage to do $80M. Studios want a bigger chunk of the theatrical gross, bet on BluRay, cable, PPV
  2. There are two great Bourne movies, one very good one, and one so-so. Number 5 seldom tops the rest in the series.
  3. With Zootopia over performing, CA3 hitting $1B WW, the very strong performance of Jungle Book, and the uber-blockbuster run of Dory, Disney can afford a few "Finest Hours" &" Alice 2."
  4. It's hard to talk about legs when an animation opens to more than $130M
  5. Scotland may not be part of the Empire no more...
  6. They might as well stay in EU and pay $18B a year. Much better deal.
  7. People in Europe & all over the world are still stressed, shocked, shaken & depressed over Brexit. They couldn't care less about an amnesiac fish. Americans are when it comes to Brexit.
  8. NYSM2, Turtles, Conjuring 2, Warcraft - all wasted efforts. All these could have hit $100M with a little bit better writing, casting, and marketing. Such a waste of studio resources. At least Warcraft is killing it in China.
  9. If Dory's number holds up, that is the 7th biggest 2nd weekend ever above Catching Fire ($424M) & right behind The Dark Knight ($533M). $500M is in play.
  10. Why pixar has a very spread out release dates. Germany & Italy only getting it in September?!!! What's the rationale behind this?
  11. DM3 will easily pass $300M. As long as those cute little things still running around wreaking havoc.
  12. More mass death & destruction? I thought this guy has done it already Jeez, can we have one year movies without an apocalypse?
  13. Even with an $80M 2nd weekend it is nowhere near $300M. $290M will be near $300M
  14. I was kinda disappointed with Angry Birds' performance. It is one of the most downloaded games in history and it stalls at $327M WW. Those movies have different appeal: Jungle & Alice is for traditionalist Disney fans and Turtles are for comic book fans. AB should have a wider appeal beyond Disney & comic book audience.
  15. ID:R BFG Pets Ghostbusters Star Trek Beyond Jason Bourne Ice Age Suicide Squad Fantastic Beast Moana Sully (Clint Eastwood+Tom Hanks) Magnificent 7 Assassin's Creed Passengers (listed as "action?") Rogue One 2015 is not a record unless The Mechanic breaks out.
