  1. But tickets are twice as much now, so is it really something to brag about? Tickets in my area start at 15 for seniors and children and 18 for adults now. Imax is $24 for an adult. It's getting ridiculous.
  2. I'm skipping this one because I am not a fan of Natalie Portman's Jane. If anything, Ragnarok was fresh because it didn't have Jane to annoy us for half of the movie with her constant whining.
  3. Heck, I'd recast with Emelia Clarke. Both she and Jason already have great chemistry and love working with eachother, so why not????
  4. I'm not sure what is going on. Maybe they aren't getting the box office results they were hoping for with this last Star Wars films and they are getting cold feet in moving forward with the Obi Wan show.
  5. Well, Marvel for the most part is doing pretty good under the Disney banner, so whatever the problem is, it's coming from the Star Wars unit. Hate to say it, but the fingers keep pointing to Kathleen Kennedy. She may be a good producer, but she seems to be terrible at managing an entire studio. I'm curious if they are just letting the show sit back for a while till her contract is up (as well as Bob Iger's) and then they will let production resume when new people are brought in. Rumors are that Favreau is in talks with taking over, and at the moment, I won't reject the idea.
  6. Funny you say that. I have never, ever subscribe to HBO until when GOT season 7 came, and as soon as it was done, I cancelled. And then I did it again this season, and actually put in my cancellation back on Monday. HBO execs are the real ones who fucked up. I see the one president of HBO making some lame excuse that he didn't want to botch up Benioff and Weiss's vision, but come on, your job isn't to protect shitty writers. Your job is to keep the subscribers happy, and you failed at your job, miserably. I'm surprised Time Warner hasn't fired him yet because he is pretty much pissing away potential major money makers. Already shot down the Arya spinoff. Seriously, if I was Time Warner, I would be like, bye bitch, be gone with ya!
  7. Oh well,, that will teach HBO to be more hands on with their expensive shows. How much money did they dish out per episode?
  8. Nothing. In fact, once news travels to the free cities about the weakened state Westeros is in, not to mention those in Mereen will be pissed that Dany was killed, what's stopping a war from happening on Bran's watch?
  9. Not Bran, the Three Eyed Raven. Bran pretty much died once he became the 3ER, because Bran would never do that.
  10. Yep. I heard the same things about Dexter. It's good till the season with Julia Stiles in it. So, I did watch up until the season she is introduced, and I stopped watching.
  11. To be honest, I did enjoy the hell out of everything to do with the Brotherhood without Banners. So season 7 wasn't totally lost. And Hound and Tormund were a delight to watch.
  12. I'm starting to think maybe they didn't like writing her character either, but she was not a side character like Stannis and Barristan Selmy, so they couldn't just kill her off once they ran out of material.
  13. Thank you guys for teaching me a valuable lesson. To not get into a serial TV show until it's finally done with and I have a good idea that the show went out on a high note, so I don't waste my time. Of course, I will give some exceptions. Like Stranger Things, but I think it's more the 80's nostalgia more than anything. But again, thank you for helping me relearn my lesson. You would think after Heroes, The Walking Dead and Once Upon a Time I would have been more wary.
  14. Or they knew something that we don't, like maybe behind closed doors, they were offered the project by Disney and it's just getting out now. You don't think it's odd that Disney has hired two of GOT major actors into some of their franchises. Clarke in that Solo movie, and Dinklage in Infinity War. There is a lot of backstabbing going on among studios too. I remember Joss Whedon being let go from Marvel, and now he's part of DC, Marvel's direct competitor. Disney also had James Gunn fired and he went on to DC as well, and now they are hiring him back because no one wants to take up the GOTG sequel. There is a lot of stuff going behind the scenes we don't know about until years later. I also find it interesting that the parent company that owns HBO also had the last of the rights of HULU and somehow DIsney got them to sign over the rest of Hulu to them. Why is it that whatever Disney wants, they get, with hardly no fights or counter offers from other competitors?
  15. I keep reading stuff on how GRRM actually personally helped write the scripts for the first few seasons, but then he stopped around season 5. People were thinking he was going back to finish up the books, but then I see interviews with him where he says he doesn't follow the main show anymore, but he has been helping HBO out with the "successors". So, could HBO have been contractually obligated to keep Benioff and Weiss for the Game of Thrones, but these new successors are their back up plans in case these two guys indeed try to sink a champion ship? Does anyone know of these rumors or what they think of these new shows and why GRRM chose to help these projects out instead of the main course?
