  1. I think he was awesome in that but I feel the other two big dramatic roles at least matched it.Dicaprio - Shutter Island
  2. Some pretty bizarre choices in here I'm reading...Sam Rockwell - MoonAdam Sandler - Funny PeopleJGL - 50/50Melanie Laurent - IB

  4. It was just good. The beginning had me worried I was walking into a pissy sitcom like "Oh, they aren't having sex and kids are annoying" type of thing but thankfully Apatow upped the psychology of the characters' issues until it blew up repeatedly and consistently was fun to watch, and the explosions were a treat. Watching Pete and Debby needlessly berate a snotty kid and his fat bitch of a mom and getting away with it, Pete yelling at people while riding his bike, it felt like a release for the characters and the audience at the same time, after watching just how damn annoying their lives are to watch them let it out in profanity-laden and well-acted lashes, even when they're giving it to each other. Unlike in most couple arguments we see in movies, which are usually designed to be sad, seeing Pete and Debbie rip into each other feels cathartic because they're venting frustrations that feel real and you're happy they're getting them out. But, there is a ton of bloat and no real story, it feels more like a series of skits maintaining continuity between themselves. It makes it more true to life, but life is messy, and so is this movie.Tons of sub-plots and none of it really seems to be building to anything other than when these people will finally have had enough of each other's shit. 7/101. Funny People2. Knocked Up3. The 40 Year Old Virgin 4. This is 40
  5. That's the thing, I hate stop motion Christmas specials.
  6. I do list Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas as my favorite episode.
  7. While that's true, the characters were still breaking into song and that's all I needed to feel like fastforwarding.
  8. I wasn't too fond of season 3's Christmas episode either. I fuckin' hate musicals/glee club nonsense.
  9. I still haven't watched the puppet one. I'm frankly kinda scared to.
  10. Aaaaaand I just found out my brand new phone is not allowed to download movies in the app, only stream. Why? No clue. My old phone was able to do it. I guess if I want to watch a movie I had better have a damn good signal when I do.
  11. ****never mind, there was another website on the back of the paper. Weird. Neither side was specified as being for iTunes or not.
  12. So, I was preparing to redeem my code for Django Unchained so I could download it onto my phone via Flixster app when something different happened: whenever I go to the instructed site, I immediately get redirected to iTunes. Fuck iTunes. iTunes can suck my dick. I don't use anything that uses iTunes, and I know that Ultraviolet is not IT exclusive, so what's going on? How do I get my copy?
  13. Good thing he wasn't because boy the audience was fed up with him by the time she came back.
  14. I felt it was kinda scary in a few parts earlier on. Other than the cheap jumps that were pretty effective, the reveals of the first really gory material worked too. The mirror face cutting girl got a big reaction from the crowd and one girl just let out this super scream that overpowered everything else. It was a good moment.
  15. That audience reaction isn't surprising, Cabin on the Woods got a lot of those reported too. (It was a much different movie, but still).I loved the bearded guy, it's weird to hear you thought that of his acting.
  16. I'm guessing ED is getting a wide spectrum of reactions, from love it, best horror ever, to hate it, worst movie ever. Some people just don't buy into gore as entertainment and the cornier aspects shone through (pretty much all of the Deadite dialogue). I can't imagine it doing any worse than any other unique horror in recent memory, like TCITW.
  17. I'm really glad David didn't get to be Ash, because he was a pretty bleh actor and the audience hated him for the whole amount of time once it was just him and the other guy. I recall at one point (I want to say after he hugged his girlfriend when she turned back to normal) the audience let out a loud collective groan at his gullibility, which is why Eric bursting into laughter really worked there. It's REALLY good that Mia was okay after his whole burial thing, because if she had still been a demon after he dug her up it would have unforgivable on his part. And Eric, holy fuck, did he get it. Every time I thought he was done for he kept surviving, telling David he needed to stop being a puss, and ultimately making a crucial save. Lou Taylor Pucci and Jane Levy really brought some solid acting to the table here to counter out the rest of the cast. The dude got so much punishment I was actually hoping he lived. A final note, the worst part of my movie was the fat black bitch sitting next to me criticizing EVERY FUCKING CHARACTER throughout the movie, calling every girl a bitch every time she referred to her, talking about how stupid the characters and therefore the movie are. I'd love to see her and her friends placed in one of these scenarios and their arrogant fat asses get mutilated in three or four minutes. Even when Mia was legitimately outsmarting the Deadite at the end, she was talking about how stupid she was and she was dead every five seconds. And one more thing, what was up with the girl in the woods and eventually the end? There weren't any actual physical demons in the first one, I was kind of confused as to where she came from.
  18. I saw it in negative two and a half hours.
  19. That would not be a very good multiplier for ED.I just saw it, audience was quite receptive though there will definitely be backlash from the crowd who thought it was dumb gore and proceed to flock to Paranormal Activity 7.
  20. Jill (I believe was her name?) was easily the best of the killers since Lillard in the first one. I seriously wanted a whole new trilogy about her.
  21. It's outright nutty to imagine an Evil Dead reboot could open higher than not only a Scream reboot, but a Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot (with 3D) and perhaps even a Nightmare on Elm Street reboot. The only 80's horror franchise it wouldn't be beating is Friday the 13th. Sony's marketing team deserves a cookie.
