  1. You are??? I'll I've seen is you talking smack about Marvel. And Age of Ultron was a minor misstep, nothing compared to what WB has done with DC so far. or more accurately- doesn't know what to do with it.
  2. As long as they release good quality movies, I don't see why fatigue would set in that much, with so many it may level out some though, and if they release a string of bad ones it will definitely hurt it, I feel like people for the most part who are tired of Superhero films, have already quit watching them. some people have related it to the western, but the popularity of the superhero genre has already outlived the time the western was prominent. not saying the SH genre will always be this big, but it will be a while until they release a lot that underperform on a massive scale imo. Just look at the highest grossing superhero film since 2000: 2000: X-Men $157m ($254m Adj) Rank #8 2001: No Major SH film (the only year in the 2000s without one) 2002: Spider-Man $404m ($604m adj) Rank #1 2003: X2: X-Men United $215m ($310.1m adj) Rank #6 2004: Spider-Man 2 $373m ($523m adj) Rank #2 2005: Batman Begins $205m ($280m adj) Rank #8 2006: X-Men: The Last Stand $234m ($311m adj) Rank #4 2007: Spider-Man 3 $336m ($425m adj) Rank #1 2008: The Dark Knight $533m ($647m adj) Rank #1 2009: X-Men Origins: Wolverine $180m ($210m Adj) Rank #13 2010: Iron Man 2 $312m ($342m adj) Rank #3 2011: Thor $181m (adj $195m) Rank #10 2012: The Avengers $623m ($669m adj) Rank #1 2013: Iron Man 3 $409m ($424m adj) Rank #2 2014: Guardians of the Galaxy $333m ($358m adj) Rank #3 2015: Avengers: Age of Ultron $459m ($465m adj) Rank #3 2016: Deadpool $358m Rank #1 It seems to fluctuate between huge and gigantic, don't see that changing until at least the 2020s.
  3. Captain America: Civil War Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Beauty and the Beast The Jungle Book X-Men: Apocalypse Jason Bourne Suicide Squad The Legend of Tarzan Doctor Strange Star Trek Beyond
  4. Mirror Mirror, is no masterpiece, but it had way more ambition and is funnier than Snow White and the Huntsman John Carter is also a pretty decent movie, that had terrible advertising, and an insane budget.
  5. You know I'm glad this is getting some attention and all but there still isn't even 10 lists submitted yet, and I've got about 5 promises I've yet to see fulfilled. just saying.
  6. edit: never mind, thought it was a new week.
  7. Yeah, but films with much lower critic averages have been nominated before.
  8. BvS critic reviews, audience approval and box office would state otherwise... also I can't believe they made gis of this.. this is ridiculous.
  9. Ant-Man! what was wrong with Ant-man! also I liked While were Young... and JW.. PP2 was Ok. other than that everything looks like it's where it should be.
  10. It very well could, it definitely fits the formula, it's trailers have been received a lot better than other bombs like JC and LR though, and it actually looks like a good movie to me. I just think it has a better chance of breaking out than they did, or at least not completely bombing and make $120-$140m
  11. I'm a little burnt out on 2015, but I will most likely read your lists because I look at all of them. if you wanna do it go for it.
  12. Why? what does it matter to you if they have a acclaimed franchise? also if Civil War ends up getting the acclaim I think it will, they will have an acclaimed franchise, very soon. like in four-weeks.
  13. It's becuase of TDK trilogy that the DC universe has been such a disaster, WB just wants to copy that tone over and over again and hope for success and acclaim, and so far they have made dull, muddled imitations of it. which is kind of funny, becuase I find it overrated to begin with.
  14. I usually don't mind CGI as much as other people, in fact as long is the movie is good I can pretty easily overlook the laser CGI, but this was a bit to distracting, however it's still early it could get better with time. as for the story, I never read the book, so there is no nostalgia there, and the story doesn't seem to have that awe like say E.T. had and it just doesn't look that great, I could be wrong though, I'll probably skip it though, just cause I'd rather see Tarzan and Secret Life of Pets. heck I'm not even a fan of Indepence Day and I'm actually a little excited for Resurgence.
  15. It looks.. O.K. the CGI is terrible, makes Warcraft look good. I don't like movies with ugly giants, why do they all have to be ugly? I'm not feeling a hit here. wouldn't be surprised if Legend of Tarzan makes more than this. $29/$90m
  16. Remember the Titans A+ Almost Famous A+ Requiem for a Dream A+ X-Men A The Emperor's New Groove A Return to Me A- Gladiator A- Meet the Parents A- The Patriot A- Miss Congeniality B+
  17. Only 11. I've never seen 11 movies in the cinema in one month in my life.
  18. Thank-you! and for reminding me to add Joseph Fiennes almost forgot about him!
  19. Actually the way I have the scoring right now, it goes from lists of 25-50. So if you could come up with 5 more before the countdown that would be great. I noticed there were several lists like this though so I may have to change my scoring method. Also I tried doing the 50 hottest actresses. I think it's a job someone else should takkle. when they do I will be happy to submit a list though
  20. $396.6m actually. But yeah I do see this bombing, especially of its budget is $150m+ it would be a miracle if it hit $100m domestically imo.
  21. Tom Hardy, Michael Fassbender, Oscar Isaac and Jai Courtney... Mmmm.
