  1. So 13 Oscar Nominations - And a favorite for Picture Director Leading Actor Supporting Actor Cinematography Editing Sound Original Score This would put it on a list of one of the most decorated Oscar films ever.
  2. Oscar push Re-Release and imax re-release to hit that 1 billion dollar club
  3. Just realised this will be second only to Joker in terms of Box office world wide (Soon) for a R rated movie, that is crazy 🤪
  4. It looks like Barbie will take it but it seems like the disparity between it and opp are getting closer in terms of Weekend performances.
  5. How about Barbie? I don’t think they to different as today was quite with better weather on the way
  6. Sep 2nd is NCD Oppenheimer seems to be below Barbie or Level on next weekend's performance. Weather is also improving so people are gonna stay away from Wednesday onwards as the weather has been garbage for about a month now. Bigger drops are expected next week in my opinion, In my cinema Oppenheimer should overtake barbie next week.
  7. I don’t doubt it, I’m talking on behalf of the cinema I run, if there was a more level playing field at least where I’m based the numbers for both over its lifetime performance would be a lot closer. To be fair Opps numbers are very inflated by imax revenue too.
  8. At my cinema we have 49 showings of Barbie over the Fri-Sun and 16 Oppenheimer, Meg and TMNT has eaten into Oppenheimer shows drastically compared to Barbie. In terms of Pre-Sales Oppenheimer has sold 340 and Barbie 330 so for I think if cinemas had a more equal showings which I know it’s difficult as it’s a 3 hour movie the numbers would be a lot closer in terms of revenue.
  9. Just was checking IMDB, and spotted Oppenheimer has landed somewhere in the top 30 films of all time and looks to settle somewhere in the top 50 long term. So now Nolan has now the highest amount of films in the top 250 films with 8 and pips Martin Scorsese who has 7 and Stanley Kubrick who also has 7. With Killers of the Flower Moon releasing and potentially being really great then both directors could have 8 films on the list. What is really outstanding is that Nolan has 12 films and 8 are on the list. His batting average is epic with the audience reception of his films. Whilst Martin Scorsese has directed 25 films and Killers of the Flower Moon will be his 26th. Stanley Kubrick has 7/13 of his films on the list and is the closest in terms of the average of movies made to how many are on the IMDB 250 films list with more than 4 on the list with Sergio Leone having 4/7.
  10. That was people's high end estimates for the WW Gross and this will be achieved on its Second Weekend, this is a blockbuster
  11. At my theater, we did around 67% occupancy over the weekend for Barbie and 70% for Oppenheimer, however, we did have double the screens for Barbie so that is outrageously good, however, I feel if we had more showings for Oppenheimer like we are having for Barbie it would be doing near but not as well as Barbie is doing which is nuts. Sales for both today were crazy, we doing around 3.2k admits when our Sunday number was around 4.8k
  12. This is one of the things I find so interesting and it kinda splits people, I found the last 45 minutes riveting, the editing, the acting, the pacing, and everything to crescendo to the last line and then the world ending. I was heavy in my seat with dread for 1 minute and could not move.
