1.75x the weekend more is the best JL can do imo. 1.75x is more than both FB and MJ1,2.

    That gives 171.9+41.1*1.75 = 243.8 dom.

And based on its hold this weekend there is zero reason to expect it to do that.  I think this is finishing right around Fantastic Beasts number domestically.

Yeah, I'm kinda expecting another one to be made after this, even if with a somehow subdued budget.

If they do one and can actually keep the budget under control (around $150M), I'm sure they'd make money on it.  While they've made a ton of money on this series it is pretty clear based on declining returns if they do another it has to be at a way lower budget.

Are you serious FB had drops below 40% thats extremely rare. JL drop is ok. Its lower than Thor 2 and it had no competition. Movies with 20-25 million openings. This JL mocking is just pathetic.

Thor 2 didn't have a freaking holiday weekend.  Justice League is having bad holds after a disastrous opening weekend.  Just accept it.

Not good. With hefty drop next weekend as well, I can't see it past 230M. It never really recovered from the Wednesday drop.

There is a real chance that Justice League finishes with a total below Dr. Strange.  That is absolutely incredible.  And I'm starting to wonder if it can drop to as low as Logan numbers.

shouldn't you too. A 4% increase is not much different than 1% decrease.

I know you are dense but are you really doing this?  Are you going to completely ignore how JL is having way worse holds than relatively comparable movies like Mockingjay 2 and Fantastic Beasts from the last 2 years?  Are you going to completely ignore that Wonder had a ridiculously good Monday hold (when Justice League's was worse than most we have seen in recent years), that even with its insane Monday hold it still had a better increase on Tuesday than JL and despite its great Monday hold and its bigger Tuesday increase it still increased yesterday rather than decreased?  Or how about that every movie in the top 5 had bigger Tuesday increases than JL and still increased yesterday?

Sorry for the insult but once you call out people for looking at the actual numbers and calling people trolls for calling an objectively bad number bad you kind of deserve it.

There’s still school going on and nobody is on vacation.

Sure it’s empty as far as films goes but most people aren’t going to the movies which is why the dates were empty in the first place.

A similar release date to BvS didn't hurt Beauty and the Beast.  Batman v Superman was an unbelievably bad movie that had unbelievably bad reception.  There isn't even an argument to the contrary at this point.

There's also no getting around that many of the increases are much lower than years past and there's no denying that Tuesdays are bigger every year.

There's also no denying that JL is not going to be a massive wom monster.

I'm still pegging it to do about 19 mill on Friday.

I don't see why it would have a higher Friday than Fantastic Beasts when it already fell behind it in dailies and clearly doesn't have as good of WOM.

A decrease on Thanksgiving Wednesday is not good.  There's no getting around that.

It isn't just that. Look at in the context of Fantastic Beasts and Mockingjay 2 and it looks even worse.  Fantastic Beasts had good legs but it's legs weren't so huge that a movie that opened $20M lower should have already passed JL in dailies.

let me give you a real answer and not some troll hater response. Since tuesday saw a bigger increase than FB and other thanksgiving tuesdays its neither bad or good

this board is roaming with trolls its the new imdb boards now. No denying that anymore.

It is a bad number.  It is one of the only movies that's dropped even with movies having big jumps on Tuesday but more importantly, its way lower than Mockingjay Part 2 which opened only $8M higher for its weekend and actually behind Fantastic Beasts which opened $20M lower.  There is no argument that this is anything other than a bad number.

The Summer would’ve helped the films Legs as it is better received than BVS.

WB shot themselves im the foot as They put the film in the middle of a battle with its release date.

MThey did the same thing to BVS as well.

How many non summer Billion dollar CBM’s are there?Theres a reason why Disney keeps thier biggest tentpole in the summer and it’s not just because it’s a pretty day.

WB needs better  Strategy going forward as even a bad film can make a lot of money.

It would not have done better in the summer against more competition.  This weekend is traditionally good for legs.

Does the World Cup affect the box office in the USA a lot? I mean the US team wont be part of it (:hahaha:) but still. I know it will heavily affect the box office Overseas, so could the films in late June/July be in danger?

No, it's getting bigger here but not enough to impact box office a whole lot and with the US not in it I'm guessing interest and ratings will be down substantially.

For long? This race started January 1st, and it's November 23rd and I'm in the lead. That's pretty deep into the race eh and I've been winning for a long while.

Sounds like you're pinning your hopes on a last-second, skin of your teeth win at the buzzer. That's fine, but don't act like you've DOMinated the yearly DOM, because you've been playing from behind the whole time.

Hahahaha, Disney is going to win the year by $500M.  Stop trolling, you are bad at it.

The mob mentality here is ugly

You act like DC is the only thing that gets mocked here.  There was plenty of ridicule of Amazing Spiderman 2 when that did mediocre numbers at the box office.  DCU has produced mostly bad movies and because of that Justice League is now having a crazy under performance.  If Marvel releases a bad movie that under performs it will absolutely be ridiculed here.

Justice League had the Dead weekends coming to save it. $210 million domestic total will be the low-end minimum for right now. Wonder may do $105-$110 million domestic, if it holds up strong. Which it would be Lionsgate’s first $100 million film since earlier in the year sign La La Land.

What does this mean?  If this number holds, particularly the low end, that bodes terribly for its legs regardless of competition.  Batman v Superman had no competition last year and it still had embarrassing legs.

What I do not get is the release strategy. BvS was last year. Wonder Woman was just a few months ago. Why rush JL into theaters? Why not do the Flash and Aquaman films first, establish the characters, then release JL next year? And if those films were well received, it may have conditioned the critics to be more receptive while creating some favorable bandwagonism that greets the MCU films.

They were rushing to copy Marvel's success with the Avengers.
