  1. In the last investors report it was stated "Disney’s direct-to-consumer (DTC) business lost $512 million in the June quarter." https://www.indiewire.com/news/business/disney-plus-q3-subscriber-loss-earnings-1234892564/#:~:text=Disney's direct-to-consumer (,(October-December 2022).
  2. Gonna get my No Way Home 2 cents in before the numbers start coming in. Apologies to those desperate for a change in topic. No Way Home is one of my favorite MCU films. I just love it so much. Now for those all pointing out the flaws in plotting and clunkiness and questionable character choices, I won't argue any of those. But despite all that, I really cared about the main trio in this movie. I cried twice which is the only time that has happened to me in an MCU film and so despite every brain criticism, I put more positive weight in the fact that it touched my heart. It really lets the emotional moments breathe. Holland devastated in the rooftop and then Mary Jane and Ned just coming and comforting him no questions asked. Their final goodbyes. I think every emotional moment just really resonated with me. Now of course if it didn't work for others that is perfectly fine. I just wanted to share why I think the movie is great and why I love it.
  3. Looks like AM3's grosses have shrunk down
  4. The tracking team is so excellent and spot on that they have taken away the suspense of waiting for the first numbers to be announced haha. Anyway I really didn't like Quantumania but hope it earns a lot. A healthy box office is good for all.
  5. I have seen 2 German movies. All Quiet on the Western Front and Downfall and one TV series Dark so you are 3 out of 3 for me so far 😀
  6. For a lot of films definitely. When I glance at the box office from ten years ago I see so many films that would not gross 100 million today. But for a must see at the cinema blockbuster like Avatar. I don't think the non covid timeline would be any different. A healthy China and 2.7 Billion total
  7. But is Covid still a factor now? Aren't we already in the timeline where Covid is a thing of the past. The only country whose grosses were really affected by Covid is China.
  8. Could be the most blockbuster mainstream set of BP nominees in years if Top Gun Avatar Glass Onion Elvis All get nominated
  9. Its dailies are Still the number I care about most among all the movies in cinemas now
  10. I've done my part informing friends that it was back at cinemas. Some didn't know it would return once the MMFF ended.
  11. Nice rebound jump from Avatar. I have no hope for weekdays but I will continue to be super optimistic for Saturdays. Nice Saturday all around
  12. Sites like box office report twitter were providing daily updates up until Tuesday
  13. This is a delightful weekend giving us the multiple movies doing well at the same time kind of success that I was looking for in December.
  14. Back to the Future and Who Framed Roger Rabbit are two of my favorite movies. Forrest Gump and Cast Away are also great. But man that motion capture obsession destroyed his career quality wise
  15. I am predicting and hoping for 40 for the weekend. If it does 50 that will be wonderful. That doesn't make me some Cameron hater with an agenda. In fact most of us are happy when movies do better than what we expect.
  16. I will be stunned if they drop it there after 45 days. I mean Black Panther is coming Disney Plus on February 1 which is I think more than 60 days after the theatrical release.
  17. I agree and understand the disappointment of most and that is perfectly valid. Just me personally after the 2nd weekend I just changed my personal perspective from something like, ok we have 18 million from there so far, fine just don't collapse and give us 20 more to 38 and I won't complain anymore. It's a personal method I do to have a positive mindset.
  18. I think for all of us the Japan opening weekend was a huge disappointment to say the least. But I get where Isaac is coming from as once you accept that and move on then it turns into well, considering the opening at least it is holding well so lets just be thankful for whatever more we get from there from this point on.
  19. Good start to the non holiday season. This has been a fun run to follow. I don't want to get too excited as I did hear Canada was still in Holiday on Tuesday. Best to keep expectations modest and be surprised each day.
  20. Loving the confidence from the die hard Avatar fans. Enjoy the moment and I hope you are right and the film keeps soaring.
