  1. 12 Years is having a 127 Hours style run out by the look of it. Less copies to the bigger Multiplexes now, spreads to the rest next week.
  2. Wouldn't biggest disappointments be a more accurate way of doing this?
  3. I only saw the pilot. I've got a huge backlog on my sky+ box including the whole series. I'll get around to it eventually.
  4. Merchant isn't in anywhere close to enough movies. His stand up is some of the best I've seen!
  5. I was in creases watching that. The brick section was awesome.
  6. He has the Avatar sequels coming though
  7. We'll probably be talking about Sam Worthington in this way soon enough ;-)
  8. I'm sure it'll get a big Disney push, but it'll take some epic trailers to generate real excitement again. $175m should be bought and paid for regardless which would be about a 40% attendance drop taking in to account recent 3D shares.
  9. Never stops them from nominating other stuff every other year. Django, Lincoln and Flight hadn't been released by the time noms came out last year.
  10. Can someone explain how Gravity is British to me please?
  11. Did you just defend a DC movie? In your own way obviously
  12. My local Odeon has gone off the deep end. I can just about understand not getting 12 Years a Slave in favor of The Railway Man thanks to the Colin Firth appeal, but Delivery Man as well? Whoever books for that cinema is fucking high!
  13. According to Cineworld, Prometheus 2 comes out next Nov...
  14. Considering 2012r's top 4 combined to over £350m while last year's top 4 will barely cross £160m, we've done pretty fucking well all things considered.
  15. I love Tron Legacy! So freaking cold after I first saw it at midnight, had to kill 3 hours in London before I could get a train home.
  16. Good list so far, can always count on you to have a unique perspective on most things Baumer
  17. Fourth for PA is more likely. Mandela got a lot more cinemas.
  18. We're kinda similar here. There's three main chains in the UK, Odeon, Vue and Cineworld (my personal favourite as you get unlimited movies for £15.90 per month). Then you have a couple of smaller chains in showcase and empire, followed by the indies. Outside of London you'll only see 2 or 3 cinemas per City at an absolute most..
  19. Town I live in has 2. One is a tiny little independent cinema with about 40 of the most uncomfortable seats I've ever Sat in. They usually show more obscure stuff than a multiplex. The other is a 4 screen odeon, boat chain in the country when it comes to locations. It shows all main releases, but is pretty questionable beyond that, such as choosing bride wars over slumdog millionaire, never showing silver linings playbook and only having one screen for Skyfall when the nearest competitor had it on 5 out of 6 on opening weekend.
  20. Just imagine what weds will be like... I was queuing out of the door to get my frozen tickets earlier. In the freezing cold wind and rain.A mile away this happened yesterday... http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-25594640
  21. Took my girlfriend to see Frozen today, she hates Tangled and Les Mis and other musicals. She liked it! Close enough to a victory in my book!
