It actually surprised me because sitting behind me there were four kids: 2 were boys, maybe 12-14 and then two girls who were like 6-10 and sitting with them was their dad (I assume maybe a couple of them were friends of his kids). That must've been one awkward watch. Although I did overhear the little girl give the movie an A.
"Hail to the chief, he's the chief and he needs hailing. He is the chief, so everybody hail like crazy."
Of course Jack Lemmon and James Garner don't nearly have the chemistry Lemmon and Matthau did, I still enjoyed this adventure road trip comedy, even if all the jokes didn't land.

Watched this the other night for the 20th time (or so) and still loved it. Great pacing (shockingly short at only 100 minutes sans credits) and wonderful chemistry between the cast. The deadpan jokes also worked so well.

Why not? The gold standard nowadays are the Russo brothers and before Captain America, they were working on Community and their previous feature film was... You Me and Dupree which garnered a whopping 21% on RT.
While searching for the remake of Cabin Fever, I found two threads, one from 2013 and the other 2016:

In addition, can Cabin Fever (2016) be added?
Enjoyable through and through but mainly because of a solid performance from Matt Damon, much in the same way Cast Away excelled because of Tom Hanks. It's nothing mindblowing in terms of story of course yet it was a fun experience even if the film could've been trimmed a tad, making me wonder how the extended cut (which I'll be watching when my Blu-ray comes in) will hold up.
