Also shoulda swapped my WWZ and WHD predictions and then WHD wouldn't have screwed me so bad. I did nail the top 2 though and 4 of my top 5 are pretty good, so happy about that.

When Bay gets it right his movies have some of the broadest likability of any director out there. Why the internet is in such a mob mentality against him I'm not entirely sure. What's wrong with just admitting he can make really fun popcorn movies? He can also fuck it up royally, but that doesn't take anything away from when he does it right.

Baumer's the first I know to hate Hellboy II that much, but it's not a stretch to say the general public wasn't crazy about it. After all, it had a horrid 2.2x multi. That's bottom of the barrel even for superhero movies. That's also why I won't be shocked if PR misses a 3x multi despite the critics and internet liking it. GDT by and large just doesn't seem to do it for the GA.

What reason do TF fans have to "attack" PR ones? TF is clearly the more successful movie by far, and the GA obviously liked TF a lot more. If anything PR fans will want to attack TF ones out of jealousy.

I'm definitely on team Transformers over team PR. The first Transformers does that type of movie better than few others. I hate the sequels, but the first one is an absolute joy of a summer popcorn film. PR only succeeds at the action for me.

Damn, those new numbers are making it very hard for DM2 to win the weekend over GU2. C'mon saturday family jump!

NYSM very well could get a sequel in all honesty. It performed well enough and there's a lot of ways the could go for a sequel.

GDT is clearly more at home in a fantasy setting over a sci-fi one. He really should have done Hobbit over PR.

I found the characters in the first Transformers to be very likable and endearing and judging by WOM I wasn't the only one. Yet Bay still got called out on that movie by critics and internet forums for the characters and plot. If you're gonna call out the first Transformers movie for those things, then you have to call PR out on that too because it's certainly worse in this one (than TF1, not TF2/TF3).

I had been complaining about PR's trailers making it look bad to the GA, but now having seen the movie I actually think they made it look good. They mostly cut out the shitty character/story aspect in favor of the awesome money shots. I could have come in for PR's last hour when the action started and left much more satisfied than having seen the whole thing. But then the problem with only showing the action in marketing was that the GA generally needs a human connection to be appealing. But in my opinion PR doesn't have an appealing human element to offer, so it was kind of fucked in terms of how to market it. I can actually understand why WB took the route they did though now. The movie was never gonna sell if it had to sell on its characters so they just decided to hide that part.

Probably not, but even still it will likely be successful enough to warrant one more. So we have a likely trilogy established there.

Oh and WWZ will definitely get a sequel too.

The Heat already has a sequel greenlit from what I understand. And we'll definitely get a Superman sequel out of MOS.

Super 8 was pound for pound the best comparison brought up for PR. Not perfect by any means, but still a decent one.

So in other words PR is mostly a bomb outside of Asia too. Yep, sounds about right.

But the Heat is not a frontloaded movie. The fact that PR did nearly 30% of its Friday gross from midnights shows it clearly is.

Well not entirely.I diid lower my final OW predict to 23m. Was sipping a bit too much haterade I think. Shoulda stuck with the 27m I had for months.
