300 was always a "win" for STID. It was never locked for that or anything.

What overly optimistic predictions do you mean? If it gets around 110m for the 4 day it will come within spitting distance of or pass 300, which is where most of us pegged it.

I wasn't around BOM in 2006, but I have a hard time imagining why Superman Returns and DMC of all movies would spark such flame wars? Were there really people that passionate about either? You'd be hard pressed to find one die hard Superman or Pirates fan these days.

TA vs TDKR was nowhere near as heated here as TF3 vs DH2. I was in the DH2 camp, but not enough to really get into that craziness, especially with pointman.

He only downplayed it if they deserved to be downplayed. He understood gross wasn't the be all end all of a movie's success. If a franchise film outgrossed a previous one, but was still way behind in admissions it deserves mentioning.

I hadn't checked the box office or this site since last night and I just saw that Thursday gross. Dear lord, what the hell happened? Rth told us 17-20m. At least that early Friday number looks good, but damn what a pitiful OD.

I guess you mean more just some of the action scenes then? Maybe, but the movie as a whole doesn't feel like a Bond movie at all to me. If Nolan did Bond I think it would be a lot different than Inception. All of Nolan's action is similar in style, so we know what to expect there.
