The movie isn't shitting on franchises, its simply saying audiences always want something "bigger and better" than the last even if its stupid. I hope there are fully trained military raptors in the next one.

Jurassic World is kinda a meta film, the entire point of the movie is so obvious. People say its a dumb without really asking why it is. Its a movie about how filmmakers and marketers are always striving for bigger and better ways to keep wowing modern movie going audiences as they get more and more bored of the same shit over and over again. In this movie, there is a giant super hybrid dinosaur with unique and outlandish abilities that wows general audiences while simultaneously destroying what people loved about the original movies. Its basically a critique of modern blockbusters and moviegoing audiences. Like, remember when superhero movies were solo movies until The Avengers came along and wowed everyone? Hell theres even gonna be cinematic universes with other franchises like Kong and Godzilla. Everything is gonna be a cinematic universe now meaning "biggerer and betterer" like Indominous Rex. Jurassic World > Abadah and The Avengers.

Remake, re-adaptation... potato potahto... You know what would be better than the inevitable LOTR remake down the road? Adaptations of The Children and Hurin and some of the stories in the Silmarillion with a great screenwriter. But Christopher Tolkien is a dickweed.

Yeah I knew there were some forms of Titanic and Lord of the Rings(or the Hobbit) made before the Cameron and Jackson came on along and did them, I just wasn't sure what exactly. Basically, they were either docudramas or shitty cartoons so LOTR, The Hobbit, and Titanic weren't really remakes. But don't worry, we'll eventually get dem remakes!

I think Titanic is a remake of an old black and white film that nobody today has seen. LOTR was never made before Jackson, but I think there was a cartoon movie of The Hobbit back in the day.

If you guys think remakes are bad now, wait just wait a few decades when they remake LOTR, Gladiator, and Titanic. The Matrix is the first victim.

Nice to see Logan pass the direct to video motion picture X-Men Origins: Wolverine this weekend starring Will.I.Am.

I think Logan should be okay since it has no overlap with BatB, its one of the most violent movies I've seen in awhile. I'd be a lot more worried about Kong since is more of a family film.

I'm mostly here for Logan numbers, would like to see 20m this weekend. But good Kong holds would be nice because I want my schlocky Kong/Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah movie. Too bad everyone else is just here for Beauty(Emma Watson) and the Beast(Noctis).

Predictions for this summer/year Wonder Woman is just okay 50-70% on RT and first decent DCU movie. Alien Covenant gets about 80% on RT with fangasms over Xenomorphs. Dunkirk is Nolan's least entertaining movie, but not his worst. Bladerunner gets great reviews and Denis whatshisname becomes the next Nolan here and on the internet. Justice League gets 25% on RT causing fanboy rage overload against RT
