  1. Bit confused with why some people seem so disappointed in these numbers? Didn’t realise expectations were so high. £9m+ is a pretty great opening IMO for a film that people want to see in PLFs and is nearly 3 hours long. It’s basically doubled the first Dune’s opening if it was like-for-like, and also seems to be in line with US.
  2. More than any film I’ve seen before, there is clearly so much demand for premium format/IMAX screens for Dune that people will simply wait a bit longer to see this than rush to any screening available. So think we will see business more spread out because of this.
  3. Great opening for Bob Marley, looks like it could hit £6m by Sunday. Migration is reaping the rewards of being the only child/family orientated film. Should have a good run throughout March until KFP4 arrives.
  4. Damn huge increase for Migration. Think it’s going to have a very successful run, maybe £20m+ with half term around corner.
  5. Migration looked really busy today, expect it’ll have a very strong Saturday bump.
  6. Another strong weekend for the UK boxoffice with great holds all around. Anyone But You is having an excellent run and will easily pass £10m. Wonka also looks set to breeze past the £60m mark and has a good chance at entering the top 25 of all time, which is currently Fellowship of the Ring at £63m.
  7. Boxing Day isn’t that big of cinema-going day in the UK. I expect Wonka will rise today, looks very busy
  8. Wonka is doing crazy business. Looks like it could blow past £50m
  9. Wonka doing huge business, £50m is definitely a possibility.
  10. Huge for Wonka! Maybe this could make a run for £50m after all if it holds well through Christmas. Definitely think £40m will be in sights though.
  11. Damn, Wonka looking at a very big opening then! Will be huge over Christmas.
  12. Yeah presales looks strong. Initially I was thinking around £5m mark but £6m+ wouldn’t surprise me.
  13. Hunger Games is doing well, could get close to the £20m mark in the end if it continues to hold well over the next few weeks. Wish might barely make it past £10m. Wonka should be interesting this weekend. I remember earlier this year some were expecting this to be a £50m+ grosser. I highly doubt this will happen but expecting a decent opening, maybe around £5m or so (almost identical to Paddington 2014 opening) and good legs over Christmas. It’ll definitely take advantage of there not being much else on offer for families right now.
  14. Excellent opening for Napoleon, but don’t expect legs to be great with very mixed to negative WOM. Decent hold for THG, hope it can remain strong through December and the Christmas period. Wish’s opening is okay, not great but also not terrible. I’d say it could probably leg it out to a good total but with Wonka on the way and the mixed reception, I’m doubtful.
  15. Very good for Napoleon, should easily top £4m then. I guess it’s not surprising it’s doing pretty well here. Also seems decent for Wish, should have a strong Sat/Sun.
  16. There are. Pro Palestine one on Saturday and also a large one against anti semitism on Sunday.
  17. Pretty good for Napoleon. Probably can do £3.5-4m full opening. Decent for Hunger Games, hopefully a sub 50% drop. Not sure how Wish will do but tbh presales actually look decent from what I’ve seen so could be a close race for the Fri-Sun winner.
  18. Very good for HG, should be over £5.5m opening (~$7m) then.
  19. Decent for Hunger Games, it looked pretty busy last night. Looking at a >50% drop from MJ1 & 2/CF, but should top the £4.9m opening of the original at least. Abysmal for The Marvels, complete rejection. MCU has truly collapsed.
  20. Elemental is insane, higher Saturday than the entirety of last weekend. Barbie keeps pulling in huge numbers, I wouldn’t be surprised if it hit £100m at this rate.
  21. Great holds for Opp and Barbie. Opp looking at sub 30% drop, and Barbie around the 30% mark. Tomorrow is also a bank holiday. Can’t see Barbie missing £95m at this point. £100 would be absolutely mind blowing, but will have to see how it plays throughout September when school holidays end in a week. Oppenheimer looks on track for £60m which is incredible.
  22. So Barbie made another £6.6m in the past week. 40% drops from now on get it to ~£95m! Could still challenge for top 5 of all time. Number 3 to 6 on all time list are extremely close, between £95 and £98m. Oppenheimer made a further £4.3m in the past week, and 40% drops from now get it to ~£56m. Would be great to see it hit £60m, but hope it can top Dunkirk’s £56.8m as a minimum. Would place it number 30 on all time list. Just incredible for both films.
  23. Blue Beetle is actually looking solid in Vue Stratford, walk ups must have been very good as the 7:45 show is almost sold out.
  24. Yeah, Barbie is almost certainly repeating a 5th weekend at number 1. Probably 6th weekend also. When was the last time a movie achieved that? Edit: Just checked, avatar 2 had 7 weekends at number 1!
  25. Should also hit $100m today. £90m (~$115m) looking very likely. Oppenheimer continuing to track towards £55m ($70m).
