  1. Given its length, Oppenheimer’s late night business is very impressive. Many sellouts for it in PLFs, Vue Stratford show at 12:20am for it in Vue Xtreme is nearly sold out with a finish time close to 4am!
  2. The late night business for Barbie (shows after 10pm) is mind blowing. Never seen anything like it.
  3. Wouldn’t be surprised at £20m for Barbie. Thinking close to £7m OD. Oppenheimer could match Dunkirk’s £10m.
  4. Just drove past a cinema and all I saw was pink. Don’t think I’ve ever seen so many sellouts as Barbie has this evening since at least No Way Home or even Endgame
  5. £20m Barbie and £10m Oppenheimer? That would be INSANE
  6. Lol literally posted as I was writing the same thing. I’m so mad I didn’t book it there earlier. I just checked science museum and it’s similar there, although they have some good seats still for 8th, 11th and 12th August still.
  7. I really wanted to do BFI but there are hardly any decent seats left for the entire run in any show that isn’t early morning on a weekday and it’s playing until 17th Aug. Crazy. Cineworld Leicester Square don’t seem to have released their IMAX schedule for Oppenheimer past next week so might try and catch it there. Watched A2 there and it was a great screen.
  8. Not surprising though. Most will want to watch this in as big a screen as possible. Which is why it will likely play very strongly for weeks due to the limited PLF capacity.
  9. Had a quick look this morning at Vue Stratford and it’s just crazy. Barbie is practically sold out from the 11:45am show to gone 10pm, with any shows that still have any seats left only having a few scattered ones. That’s 25 shows.
  10. The number of showtimes Barbie has is insane. 54 shows on Friday at Vue Westfield including shows at 12am, 12:30am and 12:45am. 14 more shows than Stratford. I think the two of these will be vying for number 1 and 2 spots this weekend. Also, Oppenheimer has sold out the 4:10am show on Friday morning at BFI IMAX, and the 4:15am show on Saturday morning is almost sold out too. There are 18 round the clock shows this weekend, and standard ticket prices are £24, seating capacity 500. That’s £216,000 just from BFI IMAX (and not factoring in premium seating). Coupled with Odeon Leicester Square, the two of these cinemas are likely bringing in close to £0.5m alone this weekend for Oppenheimer. Final predictions: Barbie OD £6.5m OW £17.5m (~$22.5m) Oppenheimer OD £2.5m OW £7m (~$9m)
  11. Must be Endgame OD or Saturday surely
  12. Definitely within range looking at pre-sales. TLK had a £16.7m opening.
  13. This is definitely the most demand I’ve ever seen for BFI. Same for OLS
  14. Vue Stratford is usually crazy for big films but agree it just insane for Barbie, will basically sell out every show of the entire weekend. BFI IMAX for Oppenheimer is also mind blowing. Sell outs for weeks on end all throughout August even.
  15. Barbie pre sales are looking insane everywhere. It’s going to be absolutely huge. £15m+ opening weekend I’m thinking, and wouldn’t be surprised if it was higher. IMAX/PLF sales for Oppenheimer are also some of the craziest I’ve seen. BFI IMAX/Odeon Leicester Square sales are just nuts. Surely at least £6-7m opening. Legs will be very long on this one given the limited capacity for premium screens. One of the biggest and most exciting weekends coming up for sure!
  16. Both Spiderverse and TLM have had great runs here. Compared to most markets Indiana Jones did okay. Will be interesting to see how Elemental performs given it’s turning into a big of a leggy beast in some markets. Probably a soft opening, but with good legs as schools break up for summer.
  17. Very good, should top £7m then. Pretty decent opening all things considered.
  18. Still looking at between £6-7m opening with that OD. Could be worse, but nothing special either
  19. Have looked again and it definitely seems busier now so looks like walk ups are good. Hopefully a decent opening then
  20. Indiana Jones opens today and pre sales are looking meh. Expecting a pretty poor opening here which is in line with the rest of the world it seems. Maybe £6m 5 day? Crystal Skull had a £12.2m opening here and made £40m, so this might not even manage half.
  21. The weather outlook is looking increasingly hot into the foreseeable future so cinemas will likely suffer more as a result.
  22. That is…terrible. Looks like it won’t even hit £5m for the 5 day. So essentially it’s a bomb
  23. Yeah, probably won’t do near £10m. Maybe £7m or something 5 day. Weather looks good for the remainder of the week and most of the weekend.
