  1. Give this one a September or October release date. If not the 2nd weekend of November doesn’t seem dead.
  2. Move this to either August 7th or August 28th. August 28th they could move The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard to the Fall or January/February. Horror/Thrillers do very well weekend before Labor Day.
  3. Push Eternals to 2021. Give this the November 6th release date.
  4. Christmas would be solid for this! I’ve said that for a lot of films within the last 20 minutes on here. But Sing did fantastic in the Christmas slot four years ago!
  5. Give this a Disney+ release or a VOD release no one is screaming about this film anyway.
  6. This has all kinds of release date slots they can play with this! August 14th is so far a solid release date. However, all of September and early October looks solid as well for this! December 11 or 25 would be one as well! Like maybe December 16 or 18th. If this moves to 2021 February 12th or something. But time will tell on this.
  7. I’m back for temporary only... but this should move to November 13 or so. December is dead. Place this on December 11th or 18th. Give this the Ghost Protocol treatment.
  8. Stay safe and healthy that’s the projection. We may not have a big movie for a while... but no need to panic guys, we have streaming and some of us still have physical media at home. So no projections from me for a while.
  9. The best films had bad test screenings. Halloween ‘78 had complaints because of no music. SE7EN also had a bad one and everyone thought it underperform. So never go by test screenings folks.
  10. With the corona virus epidemic,‘could 2021 be a record breaking year at the cinemas?
  11. Also March is kinda a dumping ground month this year it feels like. However, March has been notorious for mid-range films and dumping slump. Examples of that include 2004 and 2008. 2014. 2011, 2018, 2005, 2003, 2001, and 1999, all of the Match titles either just snuck past $150 million(2014) and fell below $150 million Or just over $100-$136 million.
  12. Everyone is all paranoid that Onward didn’t do Zootopia numbers or even mid-range family films like Trolls.... and analysts blaming Corona Virus 🤦‍♀️ . Maybe I’d get that when A Quiet Place 2 or Mulan or even Black Widow underperforms. But in all honesty original animation is tough to sell. Shrek back in 2001, was probably a tough sell. Dreamworks was a small studio then... live-action films for them were their best performers(Saving Private Ryan, What Lies Beneath, Gladiator, and somewhat even The Mexican) at that time, since their animation prior didn’t do well(Antz, and Road To El Dorado tanked) Prince Of Egypt was an ok performer. Invisible Man isn’t going to have Get Out legs. But it’s 2nd weekend hold was quite solid for a horror/thriller. $80 million domestic should be easy to make. A Quiet Place 2 could hurt it in a week or so, but not much damage. The Way Back had an ok start. The trailer and tv spots looked like a good movie. But with ticket price inflation being over $10, who wants to see a sports film in the theater? Where they can wait till June and buy it on dvd or blu-ray. The debut is an improvement from Affleck’s last film Live By Night. $25 million or so domestic wouldn’t be surprising. Sonic had a bigger drop. However, still remains Paramount’s biggest hit in almost two years! It should become the highest grossing video game adaptation and Do $165-$170 million or so. Call Of The Wild still on the top five. Sadly still a flop but not as horrendous as some feared. Fox is hurting themselves since 2018. I could do a whole summary on that nonsense. Emma’s expansion is alright nothing special. Bad Boys For Life passed $200 million this weekend! By the end of this month or even the next few weeks, it should pass the adjusted total of Bad Boys II. Harley Quinn still underperforming. Don’t blame the damn corona virus on that, I blame Suicide Squad’s toxic word of mouth. I liked both Squad and Quinn personally but anyone remember Suicide Squad got shit on back when no one liked the new DC... but forgave it when Wonder Woman came out. Harley may find her audience on streaming and home video. My Hero Acdaemia collapsed massive! Thats normal for “Fan-Boy/Fan-Girl” event fare. 1917 and Jumanji rocking it! $160 million approaching for 1917. Jumanji showing escapism is strong for a sequel to a juggernaut. overall this is sad to say this chart has been the most boring box office chart in years. Are we in the first quarter of 1995-1999 redux? Sheesh
  13. I Still Believe: $15 million Bloodshot: $11 million The Hunt: $8 million
  14. Very true! Passengers just eek $100 million and Mag 7 did $93 million. So it’s rough considering that those also had two big names helming each film(Jlaw and Denzel).
  15. And The Social Network? Or was that Arnie Hammer? but yes Hacksaw I forgot haha, brought back Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn
  16. Yes the virus is on people’s minds but is that gonna impact American movie theaters or how we go out all the time? No not necessarily, the virus will have an impact on our living patterns for a good few more months or year. This is a scary time. However, I don’t think that will affect our moviegoing habits or other habits. Only just have to be more precautious of our hygiene and sanitation which is always been a thing for years and especially this time of the year.... we still in Flu season as well. Anyway this is box office talk not health class. The box office will be fine it’s just on some films... who the hell wants to pay $10.50-$11.25 or more for almost two hours of being in a fancy chair at a theater, where it’s cheaper to wait for streaming or home video anymore that’s been a discussion since 2013 even! Also Onward’s marketing was bland, for a children’s film it gave too much away in the trailers and tv spots. And also it primarily focused on Chris Pratt & Tom Holland combo, which Mr. Holland is having the old Spider-Man actor curse, they can’t have a hit outside of Spidey.
  17. $2 million for a Disney family film? That’s not horrendous, no need to panic. Spring Break isn’t in session just yet for families and Onward will play well on the weekend like Saturday and Sunday matinees. So north of $50 million or so would be a reasonable start. The Way Back it”ll all depend with tomorrow with matinees as well, as it’s an adult oriented movie.
  18. This one will need to go to 2021. This is starting to sound like a Terminator: Dark Fate gross waiting to happen.
  19. Wow! I was really looking forward to this movie! Well this would be a great slot for the holiday without the legs of Black Widow interfering
  20. Lots of fun! Margot Robbie does great as Harley Quinn and lots of funny bits. The action scenes were fun and I liked the breaking the fourth wall here and there. Ewan Mcgregor plays a fun villain. This will be one I’d rewatch again on Home video. It’s no Deadpool but I recommend this one! grade: B+
