  1. EDIT: Whoops. Someone already made the same joke. It just said "Picture Posted" for me.
  2. Not liking something and hating it because of that is one thing. We all do that.Wishing it were no longer on the air just because you personally hate it (as a lot of people do) and / or still talking about it incessantly (not here, again, elsewhere) is another, lol.
  3. Nope, I don't. But, granted, I haven't watched any new ones for quite a long time. Not because I grew tired of it, but because there are only about 5-6 TV series that I remember to watch new eps of. Other than that, I watch movies, sports and re-runs of 80's/90's sitcoms, lol.
  4. Well, instances like that, sure.I wasn't really talking to any particular person in here, just a general statement. Like, I've seen other places where people write 5,000 word posts on how much they hate things like Big Bang Theory. They spend a LOT of time on message board talking about how much they hate it and how horrible it is, etc etc. I think they literally watch every episode, because they seem to know a lot about it, yet claim to hate it so much. Why do that? That crap I don't get. At all.
  5. I don't get the hate for any TV show or movie. If you don't like it, don't watch it and don't think about it. Then maybe it's existence wouldn't bother you.
  6. Hey baumer... I've only seen one Tyler Perry movie, Diary of a Mad Black Woman, and I love it *, lol. Watch it every time it's on TV. Then again, Madea's not the main character in that one so it doesn't really count as a "Madea movie." She cracked me up in Diary though.* disclaimer - except for 99% of the lines they gave to Shemar Moore's character. Horrible, horrible cheese. Not to mention that gawdawful hair.
  7. Well... ETA: Cedar... don't read the spoilers in this particular post. These are future book spoilers.
  8. They're not really spoilers. It's just a theory that a great number of the book readers have, but it hasn't been confirmed as of now. Not by the books or by GRRM's word. It's pretty much all based on clues given in the first two books. So, if you've seen the first two seasons, you wouldn't really be spoiled for anything. It's all stuff that they couldn't really portray on screen as it is in people's memories & visions. It's up to you if you want to read the "spoilers." But, like I said, they're not "spoilers" so much as clues from the 1st two books that couldn't make it to the screen very well. I, personally, had heard of this particular theory before I'd even read Books 3-5 and it didn't bother me that I had it in my mind before I read them. It's actually fun to look for more clues as you're reading. ETA: But DON'T read reddevil's spoiler in the post (#630) that begins "Yeah, that's what I thought you were talking about." That one's a future book spoiler.
  9. Actually, they found Mayan calendars that go wayyyyy past 2012. So all the Dec 2012 stuff is wrong anyway.
  10. I would hate to be an Emmy voter. Between this, Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey, Homeland, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, etc. Too much awesome.
  11. Well, considering this was the first trailer for it, I'm not surprised:http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=wC8ovJYAU3U&hd=1I remember seeing it before Game of Thrones and going OHHHHHH HELL I'm watching that.
  12. Some variation of 2-3 of The Newsroom, #newsnight and Aaron Sorkin have been trending on Twitter almost the entire day. This came in the 3rd highest rated series premiere in HBO history behind only Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones.Scored 2.1 in the first airing, 2.7 for the whole night including the repeat.HBO putting this pilot on YouTube for non-subscribers was brilliant.
  13. Oh, and I love people calling (negatively and positively) his rant at the beginning "Anti-American." No, it's not. Pointing out the negative truth about what this country has become is *not* "Anti-American."Just imagine if an anchor would actually say something like that today. He would be raked over the coals, persecuted endlessly and people would even call for him or her to be arrested for treason, terrorism, etc. You say ANYTHING negative about this country and people pitch a fit. Even if all the person did was give factual statistics like this character did, the arrogance of the American public would spell the end of said person. It's been fed into the brains of so many of us Americans that the defacto truth is that the US is absolutely the greatest thing EVER and always will be. So much so that the minute a citizen would question that fact publicly they would be labeled as a country-bashing, freedom-hating, Commie traitor. Which is something I'm sure many will (probably already have) label Aaron Sorkin as such because he wrote it.And that's sad.
  14. Ding ding ding ding. We have a winner. The viewer opinions are the ones that matter with this. I always knew the media would bash it because it's pointing out how horrible they are.
  15. HBO put the entire pilot on Youtube for everyone to watch for free: http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=1U4ZhFDFYvE&hd=1 NOTE TO MODS: HBO made this available for free on their Youtube page. It's not pirated so don't yell at me.
  16. I don't trust the media reviewing a show that comments on the media.I quite enjoy it so far. Don't understand why people are calling it really bad.
  17. I wouldn't personally call her excellent, but I wouldn't call her bad either. She was just ... there.
  18. Did better than I thought it would. I was thinking $401.5-.6m Here comes Katniss, watch out Optimus Prime and Spidey.
  19. It really is stupid. BUT we have some douche from the Daily Mail to thank for this. He saw a couple posts on Reddit then thought it would be fun to call up some Republican congressmen to see what they think about it. Because he knew he could manufacture a "controversy."EDIT: And also Benioff & Weiss. They, I'm sure, thought like the rest of us that it was a slightly funny and insignificant little anecdote. But their saying it on the commentary was probably not smart with the "fake offended by everything" nature of people nowadays.
  20. See now, HBO is being wayyyy too ridiculous over this. They're statement pissed me off and now this makes it worse. If they'd just shut up about it people wouldn't care in a week.
