  1. 8/10, slow start, bonkers ending that I should've realized was coming but didn't. Grading on a Tarantino curve as well. Pitt and Leo were amazing and Pitt should get a best supporting actor Oscar nomination imo.
  2. Batman is one of my favorite movies. Wither ya'll love or hated the movie, IMO it no doubt has one of the best film scores I've ever heard.
  3. If Captain Marvel grossed 150+ million OW after the Infinity War boost, Black Widow, an OG 6 MCU member, will push 175+ million if marketed right with Endgame soul realm ties. If it's a straight up prequel with no mention of Endgame than interest could wane. If marketing features excerpts or clips from Widow recounting her life or something while being in the soul realm, than all bets are off.
  4. I actually agree with this. I'm pretty big on Matt Reeves. His apes movies were better than most if not all MCU and DCEU/DC (they're fantastic). The franchise has broken the opening weekend record 4 times. Batman, like Spidey, is historically among the most popular comic book characters ever. The Batman's job isn't to break records; it's to get the character back in to the public's good graces (ala Nolan with Batman Begins). If Reeves' The Batman blows people away, I expect good to great legs and then the following sequel to explode, especially.
  5. If that movie was made the right way and with the right buildup (Crisis)? Nostalgia as well? That would be an interesting opening weekend. I don't know if it breaks the record but it could approach 275-300 million definitely. Reeves Superman tho? What would that be CGI?
  6. Correct me if I'm wrong, but after Endgame overtakes Avatar to become the highest grossing movie of all time, won't Avatar just take the record back sometime in 2021 or even next year as a pre-release hype for the sequel?
  7. I loved the Raimi Spider-Man films (Spider-Man 2 is still in my top 5 all time superhero movies) and Holland has killed it as Spidey for the MCU. Remember, Spider-Man is probably the most popular superhero of all time aside from Superman and Batman (historically*** meaning over the last 50-70 years not just within the last 10 years with the MCU heroes). The Raimi films were box office juggernauts. Even the crappy 3rd film shattered records. Coming off Endgame this could really have the "Iron Man 3 coming off Avengers" boost. So 420-475, even 500 isn't that crazy of a thought. Damn, Could Star Wars Episode 9 not even be within the top 4 domestically for 2019? o.O (hahahha jk but i mean...)
  8. Sure fire hit imo. Could approach 1 billion. Fate of the Furious still made 1.2 billion dollars (I believe 1 billion overseas too). Overseas alone will be enough for this movie.
  9. Instead of "erased" shouldn't it be "snapped?" Also, I even tho apparently Endgame is about to or in someways has already surpassed Avatar worldwide according to admissions/exchange rates/what have you, I maintain that EG fans can't truly talk **** until Avatar 2 doesn't beat Endgame. Why? Cameron has literally had the last 2 top grossing movies of all time. It took over 20 years for the 2nd movie to be dethroned, then 10 years for the current number 1 to have a true challenger. He replaced himself as number 1. Which is pretty ridiculous. Gotta give credit.
  10. Oh ****! Link? Proof? Just want confirmation on this cause that's a pretty big deal.
  11. I'm not that surprised by these numbers. I think it had the chance to do even better. Aladdin is my fav Disney movie and was an iconic movie in general back in the 90s. Lion King won't do endgame numbers but an Aladdin movie with "bad buzz" just blew out the gates. If Lion King has good reviews watch out.
  12. 3 was awesome. First one is the best. Very consistent series. Slightly worried that could run out with the 4th one but so far they're "3 for 3" so I'll gladly check out the next. Happy for Reeves and the crew. Great, fun, and pretty hilarious franchise. I'm actually excited for the spinoff series.
  13. This happens time and time again. Batman has a history of casting outrage. People freaked for Keaton probably worse than they're freaking now for Pattison considering the time back in 1988. He's the GOAT Batman (imo). People freaked for Heath (don't do revisionist history, I watched it as it happened. People HATED; LGBT jokes that people made, making jokes about his flop movies like the order, making fun of him being a heartthrob via 10 things I hate about you, etc), he's not only looked at as GOAT Joker but many look at him as GOAT VILLAIN in movies; at least on that tier). Affleck - Whether people liked him or not he played what he was asked to play, a Dark Knight Returns influenced Batman, and that's exactly what he did in BvS. JL doesn't count because that was a mess and he was "marvelized (not a marvel diss, i say this meaning that Batman was reduced to making tension breaking jokes- it was MCU esque, and that's just not Batman imo)" by Whedon. It was awful. Anyway - I don't like the casting (if it turns out to be true) but it was Reeves' choice; if anyone has read up on the movie Reeves asked for 100 percent creative control. This was Reeves choice not WBs. :https://wegotthiscovered.com/movies/creative-control-reportedly-brought-matt-reeves-back-batman/ https://geektyrant.com/news/story-of-how-director-matt-reeves-reportedly-gained-full-creative-control-of-the-batman Don't believe that? Here's more from reddit lining it up: Reeves has full creative control over the film. Why do you think Matt Reeves exited the talks to direct the Batman in early 2017? 1 week later, Matt Reeves closed a deal to direct and produce The Batman for WB. There were reports Reeves wanted creative control just like Nolan had it with TDK trilogy Another report: I doubt WB will demand change when Matt Reeves cast the actor he wants for the role. Everyone can (and should) make the jokes and be disappointed but with that said also be prepared to eat crow IF he kills it.
  14. Does anyone else think this can STILL beat Force Awakens? Couldn't Far From Home give Endgame a crazy bump/hold that puts it within range if not over the top? I don't think it's as "over" as others are proclaiming.
  15. If DC movies make a big comeback and continue to ascend ala Aquaman with 1.1 billion from December, Great WOM for Wonder Woman and critical praise for Shazam..... who knows right?
  16. Anti climatic if true. Would be crappy if it falls a few million short of 936 million
  17. how can anyone call Endgame a disappointment???????? It's the biggest event film of the decade lol.
  18. This is what I meant about Star Wars having "peaked higher" in the US while at the same time being Surpassed handily by the MCU overseas/worldwide. It wrangled feathers at the time but I didn't mean it as an insult. It's just what the numbers portrayed. I was perhaps too hyped up by the opening weekend declaring TFA was snapped out of existence and saying MCU surpassed Star Wars in the US (my barometer was that once Endgame beats TFA's i'll give it to MCU), but for Christ's sake the movie opened to 357 million dollars. How could it NOT break the domestic record? lol. I still think it could do it or at the very least it's going to come very close.
  19. lol. I'm a monster Batman fan myself (however I do dig Marvel as well). A BCU (A Batman cinematic universe featuring The "Bat Family" and subsequent DC characters) in terms of quality could easily become huge if it had the right architect and captain steering the ship.
  20. Star Wars was never as big overseas. It’s been more or less King in the states and up until recently the states ruled box office or I should say represented Box office the most compared to the world. I wasn’t surprised when TFA didn’t beat titanic. To be honest I’m even more impressed that a movie that opened to 357 mutha****ing million dollars is apparently (according to people on this forum) going to have some semblance of difficulty surpassing TFA’s domestic total; shows how much of a beast Star Wars and its nostalgia is/was in America.
  21. Congrats to Endgame beating Titanic! To those talking **** - I hated Titanic but honestly it’s probably still the most impressive run of all time. It also was a way better movie than Avatar was. Can’t wait till Endgame Beats it, although infinity war was way better
  22. It did for Cameron... literally titanic and Avatar, his last 2 releases were the top grossing movies of all time. Lol. It likely won’t bear endgame but for those facts alone I can’t count him out.
