  1. Disney CFO Christine McCarthy Stepping Down For Family Medical Leave; Company Vet Kevin Lansberry Named Interim Replacement https://deadline.com/2023/06/disney-cfo-christine-mccarthy-stepping-down-family-medical-leave-kevin-lansberry-1235418363/ Not exactly a sexy headline but I thought it wold be interesting to post here.
  2. I watched the movie a couple of days ago. Loved it. It gave me massive Jojo's Bizarre Adventures vibes that I never thought I would see in western animation. Especially the scenes with Gwen and her father, where the color palettes changed with every shot. Visually speaking... this is pure cinema.
  3. Cristal Skull had a 77% fresh on RT. That didn't exactly changed the perception of that movie. Or mine. I'm happy for Ke Huy Quan, though.
  4. They got Flounder right on an effin Disney Junior show but not on a 250 million dollar blockbuster movie??? This company is a joke.
  5. Then why did it opened so freaking low? Puss In Boots is part of the freaking Shrek franchise. Maybe Universal just sucks at marketing animated movies that are not Illumination.
  6. Remember... Puss In Boots 2 opened to 12 million opening weekend. I'm not saying it will have the same insane legs that Puss had, but good critic reviews and word of mouth might save it a bit, considering there's no animated movie until Ninja Turtles in August.
  7. The only thing preventing this from being a Lightyear level of disaster is a potentially better OS run, since many countries in Latin America delayed Elemental a week to not compete with the Flash. I dont know if the strategy will work, but we'll have to wait and see.
  8. Yes, Universal really went overboard with that budget. 340 million is simply too much, even for the Fast franchise. About the other movies, I didn't even knew that Margaret movie existed until it opened and Renfield I didn't really cared about. But those are low budgeted movies, they dont do much damage if they loss money (unless you're Amsterdam or Babylon). Its the big tentpole ones like Fast X, Shazam 2, Dungeons and Dragons, and pretty much all Disney movies that do damage their wallets when they fail. This industry needs to be more fiscally responsable for the sake of the studios themselves and their audience. The more the budgets in general rises, the more movie tickets tend to rise to cover their losses. Thank god we have movies like Mario and John Wick 4 and pretty much any Blumhouse movie to buck that trend.
  9. I make predictions that sometimes turn out to be wrong or sometimes turn out to be right, just like everybody else in this forum. Yes, I was wrong about TLM and I also made a wild guess about Spiderverse 2 finishing with 900 million WW, witch is not gonna happen because of how frontloaded the first weekend was. I made those Mermaid prediction because of how shockingly low the worldwide opening prediction was according to Deadline Hollywood. That doesnt make me a troll or a hater, no need to be overly defensive about it. I dont make fun of people who tough TLM was gonna be another Billion dollar either because there was a precedent with the other renaissance remakes that at the time made sense. Some time you just swing and you miss. But lets not pretend as if this is a major victory for Disney. They where clearly expecting more from this movie given the huge budget it was given and it looks like it will just "break even" at best. Studios dont make movies just to break even, they want to make huge profits in the theatres, not with variables.
  10. There was gonna be a Madagascar 4 but after Katzenberg left DreamWorks and then the studio was purchased by NBCUniversal in 2017, plans for a new movie where dropped. Personally, I kinda love that they stopped at 3. They got back to NY, saved the animals at the Central Park Zoo and then they joined the Afro Circus. It's a good ending for the franchise and I like when franchises end on a high note and leave it alone. Something that sadly don't happen often in Hollywood.
  11. Bro, The original Little Mermaid is still huge in Japan, they have an entire section of Disneyland Tokyo dedicated just to that movie. Also the Laserdisc copies of the movie sold like hotcakes in the 90s
  12. If it's that or Florence Pugh butt, it's an instant billion dollar garanteed
  13. Whatever nudity this thing will have, it's probably gonna be brief.
  14. Absolutely nobody wanted a Han Solo movie at all, period. It doesn't matter who played him. That movie sucked ass. That movie bombed hard. End of story. Also making a Solo movie right after you KILLED Solo in The Force Awakens was tone deaf AF
  15. Bradley Cooper in Nightmare Alley looks like 40 year old Harrison Ford in Raiders.
  16. Maybe I'm not paying enough attention with this franchise but why the heck didn't Paramount went ahead for a Bumblebee 2 with Haley Steinfeld and John Cena set in the early 90s? I'm more emotionally invested with that cast than whatever they're doing here.
  17. I don't know if this happening in other countries, but here in Venezuela I just noticed that Elemental has been delayed 1 week, from June 15 to June 22, leaving The Flash a week all by itself. Is this happening in other territories?
  18. That deal only applies to the live-action movies co produced with Marvel Studios (aka the Home Trilogy). The animated movies are purely a Sony product.
