Why is it everytime Disney buys a company people (internet mostly) love to sing doom and gloom only to shut the fuck up when we start seeing results?
-
Yep, they own this now.

Damn, I just realized... Anastasia will become a Disney princess if the deal goes through. What an irony for Don Bluth.
-
If the whole reason for this deal was to compete with netflix in terms of content then Disney stopping R rated Fox movies is a really stupid idea and they know it. They need diverse content to compete with them and Amazon is no slouch in that department either. Theatrical R rated movies is still content for their streaming service. That's why I doubt Searchlight will go anywhere.

You know, this should be interesting for Latin American premium networks because we only have HBO and FOX Premium for first run movies. HBO LA has the rights for WB, Disney, Sony and Universal movies. FOX Premium witch is clearly a Fox company has 20th Century Fox, Paramount and Lionsgate movies. HBO LA clearly has the upper hand here. So If the deal goes through does this means that FOX Premium will lose the rights to future FOX movies to HBO LA, leaving them just Paramount and Lionsgate, and eventually merge into one big Premium cable network? This deal leaves so many questions.

Is 700 million worldwide a possibility now? -
If Disney's local distributor doesn't leave the country either then I hope for my own selfish reasons that this purchase happens. I want my Deadpool 2, yo.

Oh and the Frozen short was nowhere to be found. I guess all future releases in the OS will not be attached to the movie. I guess it's for the better. -

The ending of this movie destroyed me like no other movie ever did. It hit way too close home. -
Since they cant use the Fox name I suppose, I think the wise move would be to release all of the Fox movies under a revived Hollywood Pictures banner and use the Touchstone Pictures brand for the more arthouse films (aka Searchlight). That way they get all the adult fare for their streaming service and box office share and Oscar prestige all at once.

This week I just finished Monster and Re:Zero. Talk about an emotional roller coaster... I know people complaint about the last episodes not up to the standards of the middle act, but really after so much suffering a more hopeful story arc is what the story needed. I just hope we get a second season because REM IS BEST FUCKING GIRL, SCREW YOU EMILIA Monster is another masterpiece indeed. Is a slow burn yes but is truly worth it for how it all come togheter at the end. Johan Libert is the best antagonist I have even seen anime or live action period. Now I'm gonna start Jojo's Bizarre Adventures and continue watching Chunnibiyou. (Rikka is cute AF)

This hurts me... even more than the Kevin Spacey scandal. John Lasseter was my first movie idol ever since I saw him in the documentaries of my Disney DVD collection. His childlike wonder and passion for his work is what made me like him both as an artist and as a person. He was a role model to me and the reason why I deeply love animation in general and the first person who made me understand at a young age that to make a great movie, story comes first. And of course his efforts to revive Disney Animation made me respect him even more. Now I see this and I honestly feel betrayed, heartbroken and baffled. I don't know how to handle this. I want this sexual harrasment nightmare to end. -

Watching Re Zero is... so... much... SUFFERING!!! No fictional character deserves to suffer that much. And I'm only half way the series so I'm scared of what's gonna happen next.
