  1. Just as I was looking to see if Taylor Swift’s concert has surpassed MJ’s This is It that was at 261 million WW, I see that MJ jumped all of a sudden from 261 million to 516 million? An update 15 years later? An error? A hack? I don’t get it. https://www.boxofficemojo.com/title/tt1477715/?ref_=bo_se_r_1
  2. Ferrari is doing domestically kinda similar to the Whitney biopic from last year, although the latter had to deal with the historic winter storm that hurt that whole Christmas weekend. Still, it's a reminder that even when it comes to topics like Whitney & Ferrari which both have huge potentials, it often depends on marketing which was almost non-existent and too "targeted". There was no hype that was built for either.
  3. Last year half of the USA was on lockdown on Christmas weekend due to the historic mega winter storm, even Puss in Boots and Avatar 2 were hurt big time that weekend. That being said Whitney & Babylon still did around 60 million worldwide. Bayblon had a huge budget but for Whitney it was far from "nuclear bomb".
  4. Last year that whole Christmas weekend was a disaster because half of the USA was on lockdown due to the historic winter storm. My guess is those multipliers of 5x are a little bit better due to the opening weekend being very weakened.
  5. So that's only around double, while the movie did like 6 times more. Big difference.
  6. The movie did good at the box office and will end up around the 40 million range WW, but it's crazy to see how Taylor Swift is more around the 250+ million range WW. I guess timing is everything as Taylor Swift has been more popular in the last few years. But still the Renaissance tour did well too in terms of concert tickets sold so maybe it's the way they promoted/hyped both movies?
  7. Clearly you are not familiar with Whitney if you think that she only stood there singing ballads without moving. She also had plenty of dance songs and was all over the stage running and dancing and still singing live. Sure it was in a simple stage setting without hundreds of dancers around, big special effects, cars and dildos flying around on stage because her voice alone was enough, but the point is she still moved a lot and still sang live. But anyways to each his own. I mean clearly Taylor Swift is very popular despite the pre-recorded vocals, the dubbing and whatever else, people these days don't care. My point was simply to answer the question and say that for people who follow real singers it's actually very easy to know when someone is using pre-recorded vocals or not. IMO using pre-recorded vocals that are different from the studio in order to trick audiences into believing that they are "live" is very deceiving.
  8. i’m a Whitney Houston fan so I can spot fake singing artists using pre-recorded vocals from many miles away. It’s sad what the industry has become.
  9. I have a feeling that Beyonce's movie will have a better Friday than Saturday. It will be very front loaded...
  10. Didn't the Taylor Swift movie get announced at the very last minute for the Thursday preview, doesn't it make the comparison less relevant?
  11. From the-numbers.com Domestic Box Office $23,675,593 International Box Office $35,700,000 Worldwide Box Office $59,375,593
  12. So if I want to submit to boxofficemojo and the-numbers.com the last known total in euros, which link do I provide?
  13. I can't find it there with the euro totals statistics or more than the top 10... The last thing I can find is this chart: https://www.insidekino.de/DProg/Prog12JAN2023.htm
