  1. Can Bajirao actually outgross Dilwale in the long run? Cause it's a much better movie, and it looks like it's holding better than Dilwale.
  2. I'm hoping for a total of 10b+ yen for TFA. Or better yet, beat TPM please. I can't at TPM being the highest grossing Star Wars movie in Japan.
  3. I was hoping it could break OS OW record too to make a perfect victory. But it's getting harder and harder to break ALL of opening records. Even JW didn't have OD record. I'm really curious about SW7's OD in my country. The hype is crazy here. Today I had dinner with my friends in a restaurant and it had Star Wars decorations. And then we went to a ping pong bar and the ping pong tables were Star Wars themed. And while in the car we turned on the radio and they were talking about Star Wars. It's literally everywhere!
  4. To be fair, TBBT makes Star Wars references all the time. Also Star Trek (a lot of times, I think Leonard Nimoy was on the show), LOTR, MCU movies, Harry Potter, etc. So of course it will be featured big time when SW7 opened. I'm not saying SW7 is not hyped, just that TBBT is not a good indicator for how big the hype is.
  5. I don't know how it is in other countries, but here in Indonesia the hype is getting crazy among general public. Now people who have never seen Star Wars before, are excited to see it. Last week and this week, a lot of my friends who knew almost nothing about Star Wars asked to borrow my copies of all six movies, so they understand the story when they see the new one this weekend. Ads and promotions are EVERYWHERE. Radio stations even declared today (the release day of SW7) as Star Wars Day. They're gonna talk about Star Wars throughout the day. Shows are selling out so fast that I have to postpone my plan to see it because all of the good seats for the weekend are gone. I expect a huge OW.
  6. I don't see it either. But I also thought it's impossible for a song to sell 1m downloads in a week with overall digital sales declining. So with Adele, we never know. Anyway, back to the box office. I think (and I hope) Spectre will get to 200m. It's not as good as Skyfall but I enjoyed the movie a lot and don't really understand the hate it's getting.
  7. Are you sure about that? Adele is huge EVERYWHERE. If she wasn't, she wouldn't get 30m sales for her album. Adele's new song was #1 on iTunes in 90+ countries, including countries in Asia. Here, people all ages love Adele, while Katy Perry is only popular among younger people. And Lady Gaga? She's not what she used to be.
  8. Yes, I know all the statistics regarding Adele. Actually 25 is expected to sell 2m+ in its first week alone in the US, when no album even came close to that number this year. The target is now *NSync first week record of 2.4m. Like you said, Adele is in a whole different level from any other artists. So I knew Sam Smith's song wouldn't be as sucessful as Skyfall. But I think he's the singer with the highest profile at the moment that they could possibly get to sing the bond song. I love both songs btw.
  9. Well, Sam Smith is one of the most successful singers in the past year, but yeah, he's still nowhere near Adele's popularity in 2012. In fact, Adele is still huge in 2015. Just look at the number of downloads for her new song in its first week.
  10. When is TGD gonna be released? I assume not the same time as the US, since IO was just released in Germany.
  11. Finally decided to see this in 3D. Well. it's not the biggest screen available here, since 3D screens are generally smaller, expect for IMAX. But I'm glad I did it. The 3D did enhance the viewing experience on some scenes, and didn't really take anything from the others. The movie itself was amazing. Matt Damon was great, so was Jessica Chastain. And of course the soundtracks were awesome. Definitely one of the best this year. Btw there were kids too when I saw this. And they seemed entertained. Aside from the blood near the beginning, and a couple of f-words, I think it's fine for kids to see.
  12. I don't know. I expected 5-5.5b yen, so it's actually pretty much in line with my expectation. But without competitions I think it could have opened bigger and reached 6b (around $50m) or close to it. This summer was crowded with 5-10b potential grossers IO, Minions, The Boy and the Beast, Hero 2, Attack on Titan, JW, MI5 all released within a month. As a result, IO was crushed and the others could have made more (except maybe Attack on Titan because its quality killed itself).
  13. Question, is this movie the kind that should be seen in the biggest screen possible? And for those who actually like 3D, is the 3D for this movie any good?
  14. I surprisingly enjoyed it more than the first. A think I laughed a lot more and also more invested in the characters. And I love the appreciation for "Worth It" in the movie . Can it have better legs after opening bigger than the first? That would be great.
  15. I'm glad MI5 crossed 5b yen. That's the 5th Hollywood movie that did it this year (including BH6). The most since 2006 (also 5 movies), when MI3 was released. Meanwhile, MI4 was the only Hollywood movies above 5b in 2012. The last three Mission Impossible movies are amazingly reliable, box office-wise.
  16. Interesting that Ant Man will be the most successful MCU movie outside of Avengers and IM, considering it's the most obscure one before the movie came out. JW will cross 9b yen, and Unfair will cross 2b, just like the previous two movies. That's impressive. Meanwhile, Attack on Titan failed miserably. Too bad because the two movies had so much potential to be huge hits.
  17. Yes it is good. Btw the 3D didn't add much, although it did add more thrill and realness in some scenes, but the movie looked amazing in IMAX.
  18. Great for Everest. I really hope it breaks out next week. Saw it on IMAX 3D and loved it! I enjoyed it more than Black Mass. Then again, I love tearjerker movies. Although I didn't know this was gonna be one of them since I wasn't familiar with the real story.
  19. Saw it and that's exactly how I felt, without the quotation marks, because it was entertaining. So around the same RT score as Ted 2? That's just too harsh.
  20. Is FJG2 that bad? Because I just saw FJG yesterday at German Cinema Film Festival here in Indonesia and it was super hilarious and so much fun. It even got a big applause from the audience.
  21. The Philippines on September 9. Bulgaria, Lithuania and Indonesia on September 11. So at least 16 countries this weekend, not only 13.
  22. Great! As long as it's entertaining. I loved the first one despite the mixed reviews. Gonna see this tomorrow.
  23. Wait, there's another Unfair movie? Should've known that since the story wasn't exactly concluded in the 2nd movie. I loved the series back in 2006 and the movies were great, with all the plot twists and surprises. They're doing really well despite the long intervals between the movies, especially for a heavily serialized movie franchise.
