  2. Pengabdi Setan 2 passed 5M adm on Monday (its 12th day), up to no. 15/16 of all time in Indonesia. Set to enter top 10 this week.
  3. Satan's Slaves 2 passed the first movie (4.2M adm) on Saturday with 4,410,309 adm in 10 days. That's around $14M+.
  4. - 4M adm in less than 9 days Released in Malaysia and Singapore this week.
  5. Will Conan reach 10B though? That would be amazing if we get four films this year, and 2022 is still far from over. Although, technically JJK was released in 2021. But for Japanese BO year, it's included in 2022. Also I'm not sure when the pandemic ended, I think it still hasn't, especially in Japan. Maybe the right words would be, "since movie theaters back to normal".
  6. Pengabdi Setan 2: Communion (Satan's Slaves 2: Communion) - OD : 701,891 adm (2nd biggest of all time for local film) - 1M adm in less than 2 days - 2M adm in less than 4 days - 3M adm in less than 6 days (around $10M)
  7. Satan's Slaves 2: Communion - OD 701,891 adm 2nd biggest for local movie. Missed the OD record (800k), but still HUGE (around $2.3M). Showtimes added on Friday. Monster OW number is expected.
  8. Storm is coming to Indonesian box office right now, by the name of Satan's Slaves 2: Communion. It was just released today. Might break the local OD record.
  9. Just got back from JWD. I expected a mess but instead, I got an entertaining action-adventure film for everyone. It was a fun ride. Seeing the new and old cast together was very exciting too. Definitely enjoyed this more than FK.
  10. KKN passed 9M adm! All-Time Highest Grossing Film in Indonesia (by Estimated Admissions) 1. Avengers: Endgame - 11,245,000 2. KKN di Desa Penari - 9,069,899 3. Spider-Man: No Way Home - 8,790,509 4. Avengers: Infinity War - 8,121,000 5. Warkop DKI Reborn: Jangkrik Boss! Part 1 - 6,858,616 6. Dr. Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness - 6,454,581 7. Dilan 1990 - 6,315,664 8. Captain Marvel - 6,298,000 9. The Fate Of Furious - 5,945,000 10. Aquaman - 5,882,000 Weekly rank (and its total estimated adm to date): 1. Top Gun: Maverick - 1,458,877 ($4.7M) 2. The Doll 3 - 1,201,711 3. KKN di Desa Penari - 9,069,899 4. Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap (new) - 230,743 5. Doctor Strange 2 - 6,454,581 ($20.8M)
  11. Since there are big movements in the last 3 weeks, I will post the biggest movies of all time in Indonesia, with their estimated admissions: 1. Avengers: Endgame (2019) - 11,245,000 2. Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) - 8,790,509 3. Avengers: Infinity War (2018) - 8,121,000 4. KKN di Desa Penari (2022) - 7,900,000 5. Warkop DKI Reborn: Jangkrik Boss! Part 1 (2016) - 6,858,616 6. Dilan 1990 (2018) - 6,315,664 7. Captain Marvel (2019) - 6,298,000 8. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022) - 5,979,820 9. The Fate of the Furious (2017) - 5,945,000 10. Aquaman (2018) - 5,882,000 The bold ones are still playing in the theaters. The prolonged Eid holiday (there were 18 days with "weekend numbers") has helped two new movies entered the list. KKN has just broke the local movie record, and will pass IW soon for a spot in the top 3. Next target is NWH. I heard KKN is also big in Malaysia. Meanwhile, DSMoM is likely gonna end at #7 or #6.
  12. Already passed 7M before THU even ended. Now closing in on 8M. Next target is Infinity War (8.1M) for 3rd of all time including imported films, and maybe No Way Home (8.79M) for 2nd.
  13. That doesn't seem right. Did they forget NWH? It made $26m in Indonesia just 6 months ago. Is 6 months ago not included in the pandemic era? DS2 is not even the biggest in the last 3 weeks. There's a local film that is on its way to become the biggest Indonesian film ever (and 4th overall after EG, NWH and IW).
  14. Not sure, but I would say yes. Just like Xmas day in western countries I guess. Here the first Eid day was Monday. But the 2nd day (which was Tue), and the following 5 days, were REALLY good for BO, the biggest week in the whole year. So it could've been released on Tue or the usual Wed. But, this is not confirmed, I think DS2 was pushed to Thu, to give local Eid films a space to breathe. There were 3 films, released on April 30, one of them is a huge local blockbuster. Again, I don't know if that's the reason, but that's what I assume.
  15. Wow could have been close to $10M if it had opened on Wednesday like usual instead of Thursday.
  16. So how's KGF 2? Baahubali and RRR were amazing, Saaho and 2.0, not so much. I'm interested, but I'm cautious whenever there's a mega opening movie like this.
  17. Seriously? Sonic 2 is a fail? It has changed from a huge success to a fail overnight? Ignoring its big opening and great reception, while its 2nd weekend isn't finished yet?
  18. Last year we got Detective Conan here within a week from its release in Japan. There was even an early screening before the official release date. I was so happy because I thought we didn't have to wait for months anymore. But this year, we've heard nothing about it so far. Are we back to several months delay for its international release?
  19. Saw it at a sneak preview here. I think it's even better than the first one. A bit too long for a family movie, but it's fun, entertaining, people were laughing throughout the movie, with some heartwarming moments as well. Overall a very enjoyable movie for all. The reactions at my almost-sold-out show were also great. The crowd was a mix of family with kids, young adults as couples or group of friends, and fans of the game (who were very excited by the post-credit scene).
  20. That's what I thought. But nope. And I still don't understand why.
  21. Stand by Me Doraemon: 1M+ admits Considering the popularity of Demon Slayer here in Indonesia, I think it could have made more. It was released just after the first theater reopening, when there were not as many theaters opened as now. At the time people were also still reluctant to go to the cinema.
  22. As a non-anime fan, I actually think JJK is the one that has crossovered into the pop culture. I know nothing about My Hero, but I went to see JJK movie even though I don't watch the anime, because I heard about it a lot. The movie ia also integral to the story, but it's more like a prequel, so people like me can enjoy it, and use it as the introduction to the series.
  23. I don't know the detail, but from what I've seen, wasn't the point of this event live viewing, like watching a concert live? Hence the 1 limited live viewing showtime, plus a 1 repeat show. At least that's how it was held here.
  24. Nice! I did not see this coming though. We know there is a huge market for local horror movies, but I thought we had to wait until KKN di Desa Penari. The 1st movie didn't even crack that number, in a year where we had at least 15 local movies with 1M+ admission (2019).
